Captured German planes in Gartz 27.May.1945
Hello!
Engineer service of 329.IAD on 27.May.45 had listed the captured materiel on airfield Gratz. Unfortunately the bulk of planes are listed without factory Nos, but the few of them - with Nos: FW190 WNr.560027 FW190 WNr.350290 He177A-3 №35 He177A-3 №47 Sadly He177A-3s are listed with last two digits only. Nothing special, but maybe it will fill some gaps. Best regards, Andrey |

Andrey,
could you check the spelling of the location again. There was no airfield Gratz or Gartz used by the Luftwaffe. |

Re: Captured German planes in Gartz 27.May.1945
Hello friends,
location is written as "Гартц" e.a. Gartz (I thouhgt before that it means Gartz am Oder but as it wasn't any airfield there ...). 329.IAD in the beginning of May based on Stargard, Maerkisch Friedland and Gabbert or Habbert [Габберт] In the documents of the end of May Peenemünde is mentioned so 329.IAD apparently rebased in NW direction and Garz Usedom is possible. Re: Captured German planes in Gartz 27.May.1945
Hello everyone,
I know little about the movement of Soviet forces late in WWII. However, I do know that they occupied most of Austria; only relinquishing ownership to the British in June-July, 1945. I believe that one of the airfields turned over to the British was Graz-Thalerhof, Austria (coordinates 46.988333 15.437500). Is this a possible answer to our question? Respectfully, Steve Sheflin |

Re: Captured German planes in Gartz 27.May.1945
If Garz at Usedom is the correct location than the FW190A-8 WNr.560027 and FW190A-9 WNr.350290 were from IV./JG 51 which was there for a few days during early April.
It looks like that the two He177A-3 №35 and He177A-3 №47 were old aircraft, which were left behind when Erprobungskommando 36 and Ergänzungsgruppe He 177 left Garz during September/October 1944. |

Another possibility, but probably a remote one:
