He 111 Stammkennzeichen
Does anyone have information as to the model and W.Nr. of VG+EN and DT+YI?
(I can't say the second of these is definitely an He 111 but it seems likely from the context) Thanks. |

Re: He 111 Stammkennzeichen
DT+YI should be He 111 H-16 WNr. 8307!

Re: He 111 Stammkennzeichen
Hi Norbert - appreciate what you say
I have DN+DZ with W/Nr 8298 The single W/Nr 8299 should be allocated a single Stkz. This is in regular practice of splitting W/Nrs. I also have the same with W/Nr 8359 as a single Stkz allocation I have DT+YA to YZ with W/Nr 8300 to 8325 W/Nr 8303 was DT+YD/1G+LN which fits. W/Nr 8326 starts with VH+PA I expect yours includes W/Nr 8325 as the single Stkz allocation? Appreciate any extra info - Thanks Tom |
Re: He 111 Stammkennzeichen
If it helps, DT+YI crops up on a sortie by Kdo. Rastedter (Allied info. probably from Y-intercepts) and He 111 W.Nr. 8308 served with 4./FAGr. 5, the successor to the Kommando.
I'm still at the early stages of work on this but it'll all turn up on my website eventually. |

Re: He 111 Stammkennzeichen
Hi Tom,
you present a very good case here. I have to go back and verify the data. It does make sense that 8303 was DT+YI since my 8307 (DT+YI) was with KG 27 and not with Kdo. Rastedter as confirmed by Nick. Regarding the gap for 8359: mine is actually from 8356 to 8359. I have no Stkz. for 8356 to 8358. Regards, Norbert |
Re: He 111 Stammkennzeichen
Does anyone know anything about He 111 TM+KM? (Another one that appears to be part of Kdo. Rastedter).
Also, Ju 188 NK+ZG (in the same context). |
Re: He 111 Stammkennzeichen
TM+KM He111H-6 7583, build around july 1942 by EHF,
NK+ZG, JU188F-1 280010, Junkers Bernburg around Sept. 43, seems to hv flown from Romilly in that same month , for the Kdo Rastedter/Kdo Koch nd so most probably Under III.KG40 Rémi |
Re: He 111 Stammkennzeichen
280010 should been assembled in about June/July 43 (my calc./interpolation)
280010 Ju 188 F-1 [NK+ZG] 9./KG 40 (Luftflotte 3) OPS (F) missing (100%) unk location 04.12.1943 (F Ofw. Otto Langner, B Fw. Werner Walter, BF Uffz. Peter Jansen, BF Obgefr. Erich Kobina <amd g/15.12.43> and BM Ofw. Fritz Törner mis) [rep Ju 188 280010 NK+ZG in LWFLV losses 10v09.12.43; amd 280010 - unit III/KG 40 lists no Ju 188 on strength in that month - nor any other month! Photos of this ´test´ machine are known ´as taken at Bordeaux / Merignac Airfield´ - same photo in Robert Michulec “Ju 188 Ju 388” Pt.1 (English Text) P.19. - Rep used by Horch und Störstaffel 2 over the Bay of Biscay, stated in Barry Rosch {Classic Luftwaffe Colours} “Luftwaffe Support Units”] |
Re: He 111 Stammkennzeichen
Thanks everyone. From that, I see that there is a picture of NK+ZG in Chris Goss's "Sea Eagles, Volume Two" (Classic, 2006) on page 186. It has no upper turret but at least one additional "T" antenna above the cockpit.

A while ago I asked about He 111 TM+KM, which RT said was W.Nr. 7583.
However, I now find in the QMG loss returns that TM+KP, reported by II./KG 100 as lost on 2 September 1942, is also listed as 7583 (as I read the blurred image on the microfilm — see attached). Can anyone say which St.Kz. went with which Werk Nummer (or perhaps deduce it from other W.Nr. in the TM+K_ series)? Thanks. |
Re: He 111 Stammkennzeichen
Nick,
the WNr. in the loss report was reported in error. It should be 7586. He 111 H-6 WNr. 7583 TM+KM was in service with KG 101 in 3.43 and with LnVRgt. in 4.43. At least this is what I have. Regards, Norbert |

Re: He 111 Stammkennzeichen
Does anyone have information about another He 111 that is probably associated with the Köthen research establishment in 1942: GJ+JH?
Thanks. |
Re: He 111 Stammkennzeichen
He 111 H-6 WNr.7424 GJ+JH was with Beauftragter für Hochfrequenzforschung Travemünde. It made a crash landing on 10-May-44 due to technical problems at Stolp-Reitz. Damage 15%.

Re: He 111 Stammkennzeichen
Thanks Norbert. It was with Kommando Koch in Crete and Greece in October 1942.
