Re: Photos + 4-11
Hi Dan,
No, you haven't missed any. It's great to see a new werknummer. I'd like to point out that these are being offered by Judy Crandall of Eagle Editions. Perhaps you might consider doing little updates here to your excellent book which I do own. Regards, Ed |

That brings the total documented to 1,223 Me 262 WNr. Keep up the great work, makes other researchers job a whole lot easier! Very best, Dan |
Re: Photos + 4-11
You're welcome, Dan. Although I'm aware of the fuel and pilot situation, especially late war, what happened to over 1200 of these aircraft? And how many were found underground?

Messerschmitt reported to the United States Strategic Bombing Survey after the war that they had 'made' 1,432. I think it is closer to the truth that is what they were PAID for. I'll keep plugging away at it! I just don't find it conceiveable that I have found almost all of them; to many missing 'good' WNr. |
Re: Photos + 4-11
Here's another me 262 Wreck, sadly no Werknummer is seen. It has interesting camouflage, this looks like a recce-version. Or...?

It's got the KG 51 emblem partly visible. Also discussed at the LEMB board

Re: Photos + 4-11
Certainly KG 51. Let's hope more new ones become available!

Re: Photos + 4-11
Thanks for your quick replies, guys. Nice to get some help with an aircraft I don't usually study (there were precious few up in Norway, you know!).
