Looking for North American distributor or seller of Avions back issues

Dear fellow Luftwaffe researchers,

A friend in France has advised me of some back issues of Avions that I might be interested in getting. I've searched around on Google, but can't come up with a seller of these magazines here in North America. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Regards,
Richard

Dear Ed and Phillippe,

I had called Aeroplane Books yesterday. They have the first few issues, but not the ones I want. However, they've agreed to see if they can get them for me. Incidentally, I learned that Bill and Barbara Byrd sold the business in Nov. 2004 to Mike and Carol Fisher. The postal address has changed, as well as the phone numbers, but the website address remains the same. The new information is at the website.

Phillippe, I appreciate the offer, but let's see what Aeroplane Books comes up with. I could buy it directly from Avions on the web, but feel uncomfortable trying to place an order in French. Ian Allan also sells them, but, if I'm correct, the price is a bit steep compared to that being charged by Avions.

Regards,
Richard

Dear FalkEins,

Thanks for the tip. If Aeroplane Books can't succeed, it might be easiest to give Michel and Sylvie a call.

Regards,
Richard

Richard,

..if the material you're looking for is Me 262 related, you might want to check out issue 4 of 'Ciel de Guerre' ..I've posted some page shots on the LEMB

Dear FalkeEins,

Thanks for the tip. Where is The Aviation bookshop and do you have contact information for it? Still no word from Aeroplane Books.

Regards,
Richard

Dear FalkeEins,

The online catalog seems to be just for books. Also, this still isn't a North American distributor. I will keep them in mind, though.

Richard

Re: Looking for North American distributor or seller of Avions back issues

true enough, but I only mention them in the context of "Ciel de Guerre"..

the Me 262 dossier was published in Avions 130 & 131 but issue 135 (June 2004) also featured 5 pages of 262 images, some of which were well known, others less so (to me at least..), including a couple from Clostermann's album..
