My Moelders Biography
Hi all,
from my very beginning as an author and publisher, one project had always been at the top of my list: writing the ultimate biography of Werner Moelders, the Godfather of modern fighter tactics. Now here it is, finally. Years of intense research around the world, dozens of interviews with contemporary witnesses and exclusive access to all of Moelders’ private letters, diaries, notes and personal belongings have been transformed into 400 pages. It’s all facts. No stone unturned. No bias, no speculations. Some popular myths about the man are lying shattered left and right of the road now, but – getting rid of them was necessary to rediscover one of the most fascinating and influential leaders in the history of aerial warfare. If you want to have a closer look at what I’ve called ‘Werner Moelders. Die Biographie’, click www.neunundzwanzigsechs.de . Cheers, looking forward to your comments, Kurt |

Kurt
When you have them translated into English, I will be one of the first in line!! Your previous books have recieved very good reviews, and I am rather positive your new Mölder's book will be in the same vein. BUT, for me trying to understand such complex German language as in biographies, no thanks, I will all the time come up short handed. Cheers Stig |

Amen to that.

Re: My Moelders Biography
Hello Mr. Braatz,
I read all your books up to now. My most favorites are "Schafsweide" and "Feindberührung". I'm looking forward to read your new book. Just ordered a copy yesterday. Thanks for writing those great books. Regards, Matthias |
Re: My Moelders Biography
Werner Mölders was laid to rest at the Invalidenfriedhof in Berlin, "head to head" with Udet.
The photo shows Luftwaffe veterans at his grave during their Berlin visit in September 2008. From the left: Hans-Ekkehard Bob, Hajo Herrmann, Karl-Fritz Schlossstein and Peter Spoden. I wish you good success with the book. All the best, Horst Kube |
Re: My Moelders Biography
Very nice, I wish I could read German as well if I did I would buy it.

Re: My Moelders Biography
Looks very interesting. I have the final photo taken of Moelders before his crash, taken by a member of KG 27 in the Ukraine. I sent copies to Victor Moelders. My uncle was CO of Ergaenzungs-Jagdgruppe 51 under Moelders. They did not get along at all.

Re: My Moelders Biography
How wonderful this would be if there were an edition available in English. I profess my own international ignorance and only have a limited "Spanish" speaking/reading ability thanks to 3 years of college. Using Babelfish for such an extensive text is soooo laborious.

Re: My Moelders Biography
Big fan of 296 Verlag productions. Real books. Looking forward to this one. Any news on the translation of Feindberührung ?

Just entered my order...

Ordered last night :)

Re: My Moelders Biography
Like many others who can only read English I pray that this book is translated and published in English.

Re: My Moelders Biography
The book just came in by DHL.
Second attempt, day after the first and that was only after 6 working days! More importantly S&H didn't add significantly to the cost. Usual 296 publishing standard, nice selection of photographs (people, not machines) and a foreword that just draws you in. The first few pages afterwards held that promise. I'm looking forward to reading the book in the coming days (unfortunately my son of 13 months doesn't allow the kind of reading that I was used to, but that's another story...). |
Re: My Moelders Biography
Just finished...
a crucial and absolutely essential work about an outstanding pilot, tactican and a very complex personality. A "must have", without any question... Based upon an overwhelming collection of private correspondence, diary entries and unknown first hand sources, this book shed some light upon the personality of Werner Mölders. And a very interesting and important point: the author himself draws no final conclusions - so every reader has the possibility to do so for his own... Again, I'm deeply impressed! Definitely not "vergaloppiert" :D... Best regards Heuser |
Re: My Moelders Biography
Now there's something to save up for!

Re: My Moelders Biography
I will look out for it.
I picked up a 1941 copy of "Mölders und seine Männer" by Fritz von Forrell the other week at a local antiques market coincidentally. Great condition too but as usual with wartime German publications the typeset is hard work ! A snip at €8 though. |
Re: My Moelders Biography
Takes a while to adjust, but once you get into it it is easy. Read a lot of WW1 material in old german type set. Still have some unread titles, including pre-WW1, waiting for the next round.
