Searching SKG210/ZG 1 KTB/logbooks

Hi all, gents!

Decided to concentrate my Zerstorer research only on Wespengeschader.

I am searching parts of KriegsTageBuchs of ZG 1/SKG210, mainly for 1941-43. I have some parts from it, but it do not give full picture.

Also, logbooks of pilots will be very usefull (of coarse not origins - .doc or .jpg files).

I cannot say that I can buy it, but I could exchange them for some of my documents.

Best wishes, Evgeny

Evgeny,

I think it is very good to focus, the more likely you will find better data and the more likely this will lead to a publication....:-)) I for my part would welcome a detailed book on operations of SKG210/ZG 1 in Russia.

I might have some data for you and maybe we can help each other. Send me a pm.

Cheers,

John Manrho.

John: my objective is write a book, but mainly not just photo history (best book on this subj is book of John Vasco), but mainly about operation, air combat (describing VVS opponents of Wespen), confirm claims of geschwader, e.t.c.

Started to work, and already got several air combats described in detail.

As you knwo I work on a similar project covering second installment of ZG 76. Somehow the ZG units are a forgotten ones...and there are not much of data to be found. That is why also I double fingers crossed :)

Evgeny,

I thought you might eventually do a work on the Wespengeschwader in the Russian campaign. With your access to Russian files, I think you could do a really great job. You know I can help out on the photographs.

Do you have my book, 'Sting of the Luftwaffe'? That has copies from some Flugbucher in it.

Re: Searching SKG210/ZG 1 KTB/logbooks

For example of my work - I found (with great help of Nikita Egorov) the end of this "bird" (see attach).

17 sept. 42 over Ischerskaja a large aircombat happen between Bf110's of 5./ZG 1 and I-153's of 738 iap, 105 iad PVO.

5./ZG 1 lost 1 and 1 damaged a/c.

Bf 110 E-2, "S9+UN", of Uffz. Gottfried Seifert was rammed , a/c crashed killing both crewmen.

Bf 110 E-1 "S9+PN" of Lt. Heinz-Helmuth Brandes (further ace with at least 11 vic. with 5./ZG 1 and 8./JG 11) was damaged (probably by ramm of another Chajka), and pilot was injured but could bring his a/c back to base.

738 iap claimed 2 Bf110, BOTH by ramm (L-t Lebedev - killed, and L-t Matveev survived).

John - yes, I received your perfect boock from Larry just 1 day before I get to Army. It is a great help for me.

Peter - yes, You are right. So, I think zerstorer-research community must have created, it will let us improove a quality of our research, IMHO.

Evgeny,

I will say again. You need to get over to England and get into my files at the Archive in London. There is also additional stuff there. I will take you through everything. I'm not joking when I say this. I'm quite serious.

Re: Searching SKG210/ZG 1 KTB/logbooks

John - thank You very much, I would say that from the time we met first time, Your knowledge was a Grail for me that I was going to reatch. And now, all I got on Zerstorer units/aircrafts/pilots/related, is based on Your help long ago. Thank You, my friend.

Unfortunatly, It is nearly impossible to get to England for me, at least in nearest future.
But Andre will visit England this summer, and, I hope, could meet You. We are one team with him, and all what he will found - I would found too.
