Does anyone have information surrounding the loss of the following crew on the 30.03.1942?

BO: Fw. Heinrich Zeiss
BF: Fw. Erwin Schober

From Luft.Q.M,s. returns He111H-5 3989 6/KG53 100% crash by Gerelewskij following hit by AA. Crew of Hpt Truber St.Kap all killed.

Interesting that Hptm Trüber was the St. Kptn at that time. The book by Kiehl on KG53 doesn't mention him at all, but also doesn't report any St. Kptn between 03.12.1941 (Zahn) and 12.05.1942 (Thierig).

Do you also happen to know the kennung A1+?P

Sorry I have no futher info. like you I was suprised he was not mentioned in the Kiehl book,

Hi Brian,

there are more gaps in the timeline. Between Zöllner and Bautz is even a gap of almost 14 months!

If someone has names to fill these gaps, let us know.

Thx for given more information about the St.Kap. of 6./KG 53. There seems to be some lacking of names in the pre 10/10/40 period?

Thanks for the list.

Just one remark, according to Kiehl (page 352) and FF Gilbert Geisendorfer (page 192) Klein was St. Kptn of the 4th Staffel from May 1942 till his death on 26.01.1943. Kiehl also shows that Spellig was St. Kptn of 6st Staffel when Klein because KIA.
