Re: Photos 12-15
IMHO, this 262 appears to be 9K+FH, W.Nr 111685, well photographed.

Re: Photos 12-15
Hi gents,
The WNr.500079, F1+DA, I have was pictured at Giebelstadt, got a "D" on small wheel bay door, a dark coloured nose tip as well fin tip underlined with a white (clear) line. Must be another one (the one I have). Cheers, Franck. |

It is a Bf 109 K-4, judging by the respective position of the D/F loop and the MW 50 filling hatch. Ed, you did it again! A new K-4 pic, hooray! And thanks! Cheers Marc |

And for all to enjoy, more interesting shots of the US Signal Corps found on e-bay:
A bombed out Ju 88G at Manching: http://cgi.ebay.com/German-bomber-in...item414af93f89 A great FW 109 F-9 pic (?) http://cgi.ebay.com/Focke-Wulfe-190-...item414b510ba9 A new Mistel? http://cgi.ebay.com/FW-190-on-JU-88-...item414b592508 A fascinating late 1945 pic taken near Schongau. I would guess an Erla Bf 109G-10, given the grey camouflage... http://cgi.ebay.com/German-planes-pa...item414b6d3cd3 http://cgi.ebay.com/Captured-Bf-110-...item414b6da191 http://cgi.ebay.com/Closeup-of-Luftw...item414b6faf61 Ju 88G's at Langensalza near Muelhausen: http://cgi.ebay.com/6th-Armored-Divi...item414b6fb8f3 Me 262: http://cgi.ebay.com/Another-captured...item414b82201b http://cgi.ebay.com/GI-inspecting-en...item414b6e4878 http://cgi.ebay.com/GI-inspecting-ME...item414b8225a0 Off topic (or Autobahn surprise...): http://cgi.ebay.com/p-47-crash-lande...item414b592998 As you say, ED, usual disclaimer... Re: Photos 12-15
Hi,
Thanks for the Bf109G-10 Marc. Nice picture! Just in time to be a forecast, it seems!? http://cgi.ebay.com/GI-inspecting-en...item414b6e4878 That one is 500079. Cheers, Franck. |

I still contend this E-bay image is W.Nr. 111685, 9K+FH

Note how the damage to the right engine, faint striping to the nose cone and nose camouflage pattern match perfectly to that in this well known color shot. Note also the white fin cap on the tail and the "notch" in the bottom edge of the marking around the rudder.

And, last, the W.Nr. on the tail of 9K+FH.

Re: Photos 12-15
Marc-Anre:
I would say the 109 is more likely a G-14/AS because of the small, regular oil tank behind the spinner. The 605D engine in the K-4 required the large oil tank. I think that is an F-8 with a "blown" canopy. The F-9 has the BMW 801TS engine which required the "paddle-bladed" prop blades. These are regular 801D type blades. This is a well-published photo. |
Re: Photos 12-15
Dan and John,
Could this be a G-8? http://cgi.ebay.com/Focke-Wulfe-190-...item414b510ba9 Pitot tube on right wingtip; no outer wing weapons; no Morane mast; and what looks like a single ETC 503 bomb rack under each wing. Steve Sheflin |

Dan, John
Thanks for your valued informations. John, though I read your opus way back in 1979, it seems I will never master that late Bf 109 typology correctly... Thanks God, you're around to put us back in the right track... Cheers Marc |

Re: Photos 12-15
Mark...
Love the colour photo of the Me262... :) I'm inclined to support your belief that it is 1./KG51's '9K+FH'. The aircraft I/D letter is clearly white, as is the matching tail fin tip. If it had been F1+DA, the 'D' would likely have been medium blue to confirm Geschwaderstab status, but it's clearer in this photo that it's not a 'D' we're even looking at. Regards... Paul |
Re: Photos 12-15
There appears to be some confusion here, as 5 different 262 photos are being discussed. I made reference to the 3 posted by Haldiman, not those posted by Ed West. The first one, posted by Ed is clearly 9K+FH, no doubt about it, while the other most likely found at the Kuno I waldwerk.
