Hallo Unikum,
You deserve well your nickname! Thanks so much for sharing those fascinating pictures. As an Bf 109 K-4 fan, you make my day! Of interest is to see in which good condition the paint has survived, when compared to the other machines depicted at the same place and time. The front view of "Yellow 6" reveals behind the Balkenkreuz the faded last three digits of the W.Nr. as generically applied at the Flossenbürg Mtt factory. The third Gruppe bar seems a bit washed off. Thanks again for sharing those gems Marc |

Hi, Unikum...
Thanks for the photos... :). Really liked this one, the aerial view of the various discarded wrecks... http://www.gstatic.com/hostedimg/58865bdbb62dd41f_large The Heinkel 111s and 177s, various sub-types of Ju86, parts of a Henschel 126 and a Junkers W34 make up an interesting photo. Regards... Paul |

Great shots again, thanks Unikum.
It would be great if someone with a Flickr account could ask the guy who uploaded this one: http://www.flickr.com/photos/23057174@N02/4256669125/ for a larger scan. And has anyone any idea about the airfield at which the above photo was taken? Looks like the Fw 200 from the following pic was captured at the very same spot (another image shows that it was parked right next to the Fw 190 "Yellow 13" or "15"): http://www.flickr.com/photos/23057174@N02/4256667915/ Regards, Christian |

Re: Photos
Thank you Steven,
Can anyone tell for sure what's the tactical number of this plane? My guess after playing around with some image editing software would be "13", but it could also be "15", "3" or "5"...Maybe my monitor renders the contrast too badly; any idea? Christian |

Re: Photos
Hello Unikum,
You're correct: two other Bf 109 K-4 pictures in the same stream of Blue Yonder: http://www.flickr.com/photos/2305717...n/photostream/ Bf 109 K-4 "White 24" of 1. /JG 27, the same machine as seen in Kees, M and Poruba T (2000), Messerschmitt Bf 109 K-4, camouflage and markings, JaPo, p. 64 and the well known pair found in Wunstorf: http://www.flickr.com/photos/2305717...n/photostream/ Bf 109 K-4 W.Nr. 330 255 "Black <" of III. /JG 27 Bf 109 K-4 W.Nr. 332 700 Kees, M and Poruba T (2000), Messerschmitt Bf 109 K-4, camouflage and markings, JaPo, page 26 Cheers Marc |

How did you manage this? Would it be possible to do the same for the Bf 109K-4 pics? Thanks in advance! Cheers Marc |
Re: Photos
Any information on where these ME 109 were taken?

Re: Photos
It should be the ATG factory at Leipzig. This company built diverse Junkers aircraft in license throughout the war.

Re: Photos
Thanks. I am always searching for any thing from Kassel, or Fieseler. :)

Re: Photos
I see that many of these photos originate from the collection of my old friend, Roland 'Rollie' Dibnah, DFC S\L RAF. He died many years ago, but was a true gentleman.

Re: Photos
Nice find also. I especially like the Fw 190 in the foreground of this photo, which combines a high (air school) number with a third (or fourth) Gruppe wave; a combination I have never seen before:

Re: Photos
Nope
Its the DFS 228 high altitude research aka recce aeroplane. Never flew with rocket power but was carried many times on the back of the Do 217K V-3 and released in flight and glided back to earth Cheers Stig |
