To add that KG200, was not a monolithic unit, they flew everything, everywhere, for a vast range of purposes, we need to know more about his career, was he a pilot ?? observer ??

But 2./KG 200 was engaged in short range transport operations in the East, using the He 111.

Our book, “Bomber Units of the Luftwaffe” Volume 2 has a 16 page long mini-history of KG 200 which is drawn mainly from original unpublished documents as well as all the published accounts. As far as 4./KG 200 was concerned it was to drop agents behind enemy lines, primarily on the eastern front. Specifics are few due to the secrecy of the unit. Its commander was Hptm. Friedrich Schäfer (Rk).

Hmmmm … 4. Staffel was the parent formation of Kommando Olga (Western Front), Kommando Carmen (Italy) and Kommando Clara (Wiener-Neustadt). Nothing very Eastern about the first two, at least.

I was too hasty and misread 2. Staffel as 4. Staffel. Haste makes waste!

The 2./KG 200 provided the stem for a number of more “function specific” Kommandos, the actions of which are described in their own sections of our KG 200 mini-history. As a generalization, the Staffel was used for comparatively short range agent dropping. However, there is only fragmentary information to clearly tie any given Staffel to specific Kommandos, and so to answer the original question would be difficult. What is known about the activities if these Kommandos is described in our book.

Kommando Carmen operated on the Italian and sometimes North African areas. Kommando Toska on the Eastern front, and possibly flew agents into Iraq. While Kommando Olga flew on the West front, Kommandos Klara, Toska, Wenzel and Maria operated on the Eastern front.

Very few if any losses reported for this 2.Staffel, one unit using "transport " planes was Aussen Kdo KG200/Erpr.Stelle Rechlin Ju290/B17 to be used in penetration actions but with widen legs. that's why I asked for more details

I don't konw very much. My Father was a pilot and´came from a Reccon-nuni. He has the front-war-bagde for reccon in gold with clasp?
I Have no other informatiuons for further wings.
I only Know, that he droppes agents behind the russian Lines withn the He 111.
He flew missions in the beginningh of 1945 from Heiligenbeil in East Prussia ( now Mamomowo?

But the chnaces are less, I search since mote tha forty years.

Heiligenbeil (GER) (today Mamonovo) (54 28 30 N – 19 58 00 E)
General: airfield in the former East Prussia 40 km SSW of Königsberg and 1.5 km NE of Heiligenbeil. Grass surface with paved hangar apron. Ordered established as a Lw. Fliegerhorstkommandantur by 1 October 1936. Also used as an Industriehafen by Industriewerk Heiligenbeil.

School Units: Fl.Ausbildungs-Rgt. 31 (1939-41); Schule/FAR 31 (1939); Schule/FAR 51 then FFS A/B 51 (Jan 40 – Dec 41); Arbeitsplatz for FFS A/B 51 (Elbing) (1942-43).
Erg./Ers. Units: IV./KG 3 (Jul 43 – Aug 44).
Station Commands: Fl.H.Kdtr. A(o) 6/I; Fl.Pl.Kdo. 7/I; Fl.H.Kdtr. E(v) 214/I.

Kommando Carmen was housed in an old villa in via Milazzo 3, Bergamo, Italy, not so far from Orio al Serio airbase.
The planes flown was at the end of war Ju 188.
The Kommando had any losses around Bergamo, like you can read on Nick and Ferdinando's book "Air War Italy", great opera full of particulars.
