19/02 - Bf109s on eBay

Hi,

another strange marking... for me; and some documented pictures, except the last one. Grrrr...

1. http://cgi.ebay.de/orig-Foto-Luftwaf...item2c5ae9ee14
That Black/Rote 13 has been well documented and pictured by PK.
2. http://cgi.ebay.de/Me-109-Messerschm...item2c5ae9f550
JFS 1??
3. http://cgi.ebay.de/Orig-Foto-Flugzeu...item3f077ef955
Please, buyer, when you'll get it give us pilot's name!
4. http://cgi.ebay.de/Foto-Flugzeug-ME1...item20b74d1180
I thought the "Idioten-Emil" had some special wheel devices under wings. Check the super charger!
5. http://cgi.ebay.de/Foto-Flugzeug-ME1...item20b74d1499
Ossun?... Hmmm Yes Ossun, 3./JG 101 then.
6. http://cgi.ebay.de/Foto-Flugzeug-ME1...item20b74d174b
DN+KC WNr.15331 ! Erla build.

Bonjour Rémi,

Block 15205-16000 is given by Prien & Rodeike as Erla build in "Messerschmitt Bf109F,G & K An illustrated Study". Cited in Falcon site.

BUT: DN+KJ is cited in Stammkennzeichen.de as MTT augsburg in July 1943. It's the only one of DN+Kx serie cited in this site, as well in van Gogh list (Peter doesn't dare to give the complete serie; he doesn't think - with good reasons that having ONE in the list is enough to take the whole for sure!)... but for a good reason: It is given as V50 in 1943 at MTT.

So??...

"We" already talked about that block (where we can found 15208 a G-4(Trop?)/G-12 -See elsewhere on TOCH) which is problematic.

Is Prien completely wrong about it? Or just a little?

Concerning the last letter, I see a "C" underwing; though I wasn't sure - like you - on fuselage.

Regards, Franck.

Re: 19/02 - Bf109s on eBay

And where is the problem? ...

In stammkennzeichen.de is Mtt. Augsburg cited as "owner" and not as "producer" of the "DN + KJ". There were other Erla-machines too used by Mtt. as test a/c (V-54, V-55).

And where is the problem with the W.Nr.15208 (an G-4 trop. without an "?"). I checked the other thread again but i didn't understand the problem ...

Re: 19/02 - Bf109s on eBay

Hello,

I'm not the one who wrote Block 15205-16000 are G-6s... specially when the Stkz. serie starts in G-4/Trop production block and ends in the following G-6 (i.e. 15205-16000) production Block.

Anyway, you're right; it's not a "problem"...

Regards, Franck.

Re: 19/02 - Bf109s on eBay

The "illustrated story" from Prien/ Rodeike printed in 1995 is outdated in some points in the meantime ... the correct batch was given by me in the corrections of JFV 10/III on p.370 --- the last G-4 trop was W.Nr.15209, the first G-6 trop the W.Nr.15210.

Best wishes
Rasmussen

Ach! Great news!

Thanks very much!
I didn't know that, though I knew you were involved in such matters somewhere & sometime to time... Left some sites & datas bank on line to change it;
I will appear less stupid next time. :D.

Hello Franck,

Another photo of that plane has been published several times. According to Prien's JFV vol10/II pag. 447, the pilot is Lt. Andreas Trockels.

Cheers

Thank you Miguel & John.
Any idea of "Hjördis" meaning; woman first name?

Cheers, Franck.

Re: 19/02 - Bf109s on eBay

Franck,

According to the photo's text in JFV 10/II, Syördis is the name (nickname?) of Trockels' girlfriend.

Cheers

Gracias Miguel,

But it's Hyördis without doubt. Check Google no single entrance for Syördis but full for Hyördis... I even think it's not a girl name, but I'm not able to verify since there's no page in French....

Greetings, Franck.

Re: 19/02 - Bf109s on eBay

Correct would be indeed "Hjördis" ... the meaning: "the goddess with the sword".

From the legends of northern world:
Hjördis was the daughter from king Eilimis, the second wife from Sigmund and the mother of the greatest hero from the familiy of Wölsungen, Sigurd. He killed later with the sword Gram the famous dragon Fafnir.

... and according Prien it was the the first name of the daughter from his neighbour, an farmer, ... his girlfriend (like Miguel mentioned).

Best regards

Ah thanks Jorge,

I did write it correctly in my post #10, after I did follow Miguel way... Shame on me! OK I got it... Wrote with a "j" is more efficient to get an answer.

I'm just wandering why it's written with the Islandic way...

Tschüss, Franck.

Re: 19/02 - Bf109s on eBay

Hi all,

It's clear that Hjördis is the right name.
Besides, the photo is a good addition (at least for me) to the available JG11 shots.

Thanks and cheers
