Hm I remember well - if asking in germany for a plane crash in WW 2 -
in most cases got the answer - "A american/british bomber , the crew was all tall like trees Canadians" Its real funny. khorat |

Re: Canadian spitfire Pilot crash near Village Oberschwarzach or Schwarzach Germany
Very difficult Klaus, probably a Canadian and 1944/1945 !! Could be British, American, etc. Names of Schwarzach or Oberschwarzach not in my files. I believe we do more accurate info on date and fate of the airman.
Best regards from a sunny Holland, Henk. |

There is a two-volume book on Canadian Spritfire pilots by the late R. Bracken. Check them out.

Also the French Airforce was active in that area so a P-47 could be another option.

Re: Canadian spitfire Pilot crash near Village Oberschwarzach or Schwarzach Germany
Klaus, send me his name and I will see if I have his IDPF.
Where I grew up, any pilot shot down was Canadian, or African American. After many interviews during the 80's I discovered Northrhine Westphalia was attacked by Canadians and the Tuskegee airman alone :) Danny |
