:o As for that White 5 style we can watch picture #5 for example. Shame on me.

More likely II./JG 1. Both the Prien "blue" series(see also JFV 7, pg 59) and the Mombeek series on JG 1 offer photos of the von Hahn machine with the same spiral. Among the losses in 1942 are two F-4s in the 859x series.

Franck, I think this "white 5" is the "white 15" from the air2air photos.

Hello,

As Franck says, Item #4 is Bf-109E-1, White 8, WNr.3375, of 4./JG26. I have this as down near Hallennes-Lez-Haubourdin France, but I have not been able to hook this up to the date of a 4 Staffel loss in May or June, 1940. Can anybody help with this?

Regards,

Re: 4/04 - Bf109E-1 WNr.3375

Bf109E-1 WNr.3375 was flown by Uffz. Wilhelm Philipp of the 4./JG 26 on the 1., 10., 12. & 29. May1940. Perhaps the damage was not significant-enough to be recorded?

Hello,

I thought it was a possibility; as for number style, Prien is giving both. What about the WNr. ?

Thanks Larry and GRM,
Thank you both, we got the site, the most probable pilot ... left the date!
This picture is a gift when thinking about the two very bad pictures available ... On net.
And one more time, this confirms, too, that when you have one you'll we have other(s) !!!

... Hallennes-Lez-Haubourdin (thanks Larry) is situated 10kms west of Lille.

Cheers, Franck.

#8 still shows the yellow 'Ostfront' rumpfband. Likely I./JG 3 before it joined JG 1?

Re: 4/04 - Bf109s on eBay

Hello,

Weisse 5 (15).
The present picture is most probably taken in Bönninghardt, tree line, tree size & environnement is so close of what we can find on other pictures that I have no doubt ... I can add, in september 1939.
It should be good to find another picture with the same white house to confirm this.
We can find another clue in JFV, Teil 2, page 189 where White 15 is pictured, presenting the same number style and the same "5" characteristic; ie it's painted a little bit on octane triangle. So I totally agree with David suggestion.
Left to read the WNr. I made a suggestion; any sharp eye down there?

Concerning JG 3/JG 1 options, I have no documentation about that. Jim comment seems reasonnable.

Cheers, Franck.

Could it be the summer loss for Detlev Rohwer?

That's a TEAM work,

I read July in that page: http://www.luftwaffe.cz/rohwer.html but it's not always up to date.

Regards, Franck.
