Johann Geismann

Geismann started with 1/606, awarded DKiG 1942, then to I/KG 77 being awarded the RK at the end of 1942. He ended the War on NJG 6-any idea of his fate? Again, he was alive in Jan 45

Re: Johann Geismann

I should have said IV/NJG 1-he was alive in 1990

Hi Chris,

Geismann died in Aurich.

Do you know anything about his career after he was awarded the RK and before he re-mustered as a Nachtjäger. Did he continue to fly with 1/KG77?

Cheers

Andy: He started with 606 which then became I/KG 77 but I have no idea when or why he transferred. KG 77 was subsumed within KG 26 aftre D-Day so assume that the transfer occurred then. His awards came quite early on

Hi Chris,

I believe he was credited with 98000 BRT of shipping.
DKiG 27Oct42 for his service with 1/Kü.Fl.Gr.606
RK 21Dec42 (serving with 1/KG77 at the time)

Re: Johann Geismann

That is what I have. I have seen just 2 photos-one the usual RK photo, the other of him in the Med standing in front of the tail of his ac which has the kill tallies and a small 606 'Hahn' badge at the top

Re: Johann Geismann

Hello Chris!
I am from REVI magazine from Czech republic and I am now preparing article about Johannes Geismann for my magazine.
I know another photo of Geismann, in Sven Carlsen and Michael Mayer book: Die Flugzeugführer-Ausbildung der Deutschen Luftwaffe 1935-1945, Band II, page 475, very nice photo of Ju 88 A, 3Z + DU, 10./KG 77 in May 1944 in Gross Schiemanen. Many ships and one victory is painted on the rudder. Oblt. Geismann was on this airbase Staffelkapitän 10./KG 77 from 28. 05. 1943 - . 07. 1944. That was Ergänzungsstaffel, a part of IV./KG 77.
I know another photos of Johannes Geismann to, but this is the best one.
We are preparing a colour picture of this machine for article.
Sorry for my poor English.

Hi Petr,

Sorry to jump in but do you know the date when Geismann became St.Kap. 10/KG77. Was he St.Kap. when IV/KG77 was based at Montpellier?

Regards

Andy Fletcher
