I have records of a number of He111P from a block close to this number. But the highest number I have is 2162 which is a He111P-5. On your earlier thread I had assumed that 2196 could also be a He111P. But I did not have access to the article by Volker Koos in Jet & Prop number 2/2010 which Matti mentioned. As I then acknowledged in the earlier thread WNr.2196 was probably only ever the He111B-2 which I had earlier stated.

Sorry if I confused you. Are the ID plates that you have related to WNr.2196?

I don´t know type so I thought it was P 2... Or B 2 ? Maybe P cause was maded in 1939... Many thanks for your helpfulness...

As I mentioned in a previous thread there is a very good article with regard to the He 111 production in Jet & Prop issue 2/2010
The WNr batch of the B-2 was 2177 to 2216
The WNr batch of the P-2 was 2121 to 2169, 2217

What evidence do you have that a He111 WNr 2196 was built in 1939?

W.Nr. 2195 was used by 4./ KG 157 in June 1937 ... so I'd guess the W.Nr. 2196 was built in 1937 too.

...and this WNr.2195 is a He111B-2, not linked with this curious/questionable He111P-2 built in 1939.

For Ian- I saw ID plate of this plane but is not in one piece so it is why his owner don´t told me about type of He 111 ( P 5 , P 2 or B 2..) Plate is very damaged and there is date 8/ 1939

Are you sure, that the plate is the actual airframe plate and not from some subassembly? Could you tell the full content of the plate or preferably scan the pieces of it?

I am sure, cause on the plate is written ,,H,, logo and number without type, date and Rostock and BAL (at place for type is very damaged of fire) but I saw it when I visited one old man, I will writte him and want to have photo of plate for you and me too. In 1939 was maded how types of 111, please? Thanks... I think P 2 or H 2...?
