Re: Photos 1-23-13
Sorry for being a bit offtopic but did ebay.de just remove the Militaria listings ? I can only see them if i click on a specific link, but no category full view anymore.
For instance if i go here there is no item listed : http://www.ebay.de/sch/Fotos-/15504/i.html |
Re: Photos 1-23-13
Same thing here.

Re: Photos 1-23-13
Hi.
Same here - all Militaria listings are gone. Anyone actually in Germany able to try it out? Could be a database error of course Regards, Andreas B |
Re: Photos 1-23-13
Hi,
I checked with eBay customer service and was right - they are currently servicing their systems, and some areas might be unavailable for a longer or shorter period of time. Regards, Andreas B |
Re: Photos 1-23-13
Thanks for the update Andreas, i initially thought they were going to remove the entire section for some reason, good to hear that it's only temporary !

Re: Photos 1-23-13
Gents,
obviously ebay has finished the servicing-duty somehow quicker than expected. See here for instance (it's working): http://www.ebay.de/sch/i.html?_nkw=s...fotos+flugzeug Best regards Norbert |
Re: Photos 1-23-13
Still empty for me !
|
Re: Photos 1-23-13
it works for me
|
Re: Photos 1-23-13
It's not working for me.
Could it be some sort of censorship based on the member's location? |
Re: Photos 1-23-13
It sure looks like it, apparently it only works 100% for ppl located in Germany, there is no maintenance or anything else going on as i can access just fine the sub-sections and run my searches by using a browser with a built-in internet anonymizer.

Re: Photos 1-23-13
In Rotterdam Holland it works

Re: Photos 1-23-13
Not working in Norway.
What is happening - it should at least have been some kind of message in the help pages of eBay telling foreign users of ebay that Militaria section has been closed??? Regards, Andreas B |
Re: Photos 1-23-13
Not working in Sweden either. Free market in EU!? Yeah not any more...
|
Re: Photos 1-23-13
Interesting, although I cannot see the auctions, I can still bid on the few items I was watching, so I have the links for.

Re: Photos 1-23-13
Hi, all
Same here - so for some reason (and as far as I can see there is NO info on the ebay site that they have removed access for foreigners) they have dissallowed us to browse these categories. If this does not change over the weekend I believe I will pull the ´You occupied my country and tortured my grandfather - making him a war invalid´ card on them on monday - asking why I am not allowed to as an author search their site for research material on the occupation history. Maybe get some of the major newspapers interested eventually... Well, I have also sent the ebay.de support an email, so hopefully it will be possible to find out what is going on a least. I just did a small test, and it seems that at least for me in Norway that every Sammeln und seltenes category is ´empty´ If it was just Militaria, then I would be more worried than when I see that I am not even allowed to browse for Pokémon trading cards.... Regards, Andreas B |
Re: Photos 1-23-13
Ok, I'll send them a mail pulling the "you didn't bother to occupy my country" card... :-P
Anyway I've mailed customer support and questioned if this action is in line with the free market of European Union (a card you can't pull Andreas! :-) Apparently quite a number of people on other forums are also making noice in different ways. I've also been able to conclude deals on items for which I have the lot-number for. It is also possible to view the other items sold by a seller of an item that you are watching by clicking on "Andere artikeln aufrufen". A time consuming approach though. /Mike |
Re: Photos 1-23-13
Hi, Mikael
Well, as we are part of the EEA, which should open up the borders a bit with regards to trade, I could try that card. I really do not have a problem with them doing this if they had informed the customers and sellers! I can not browse the Sammeln und seltenes section at all - and thus I can not really even sell an item! I can of course also see all the items I have in my watched folder, and also those I get search results on - but the received emails only contain a few of the search hits of a generic search - and following the See all results link is a dead end. I am going to call them on monday and ask for an explanation. Regards, Andreas B |
Re: Photos 1-23-13
Hmm, strange...
In Serbia ebay working. kind regards Newcomer |
Re: Photos 1-23-13
This is the answer I received from eBay.de:
"Hello Denes, thank you for your email. You've informed us that the search on eBay.de provides not enough/not the desired results. I'm sorry to hear this. I am happy to help you.. We are currently testing a new layout of eBay's search system. eBay is testing a number of new features to the website, to request feedback from our customers. The tests usually affect only a small part of the members and are mostly temporary. Some of the tested functions would be possibly permanently integrated, while discarding others. If the desired function does not work on the eBay site permanently, please update your browser." I don't buy it, though... |
Re: Photos 1-23-13
Nice pic of a Spit.
http://www.ebay.de/itm/Orig-Foto-Flu.../251218343164? Seems to be N3200 First Flight 29-11-39 8MU 2-12-39 19Sq 14-4-40 FTR 27-5-40 Interesting no visible sign of ID letter even though with unit for over a month? Actually in Air Battle Dunkirk by Norman Franks it has the loss as 26-5-40. 07.34 to 09.15. N3200 was being flown by S/Ldr G D Stephenson. He claimed a Ju87 but was sot down - POW. In the book "P/O M D Lyne confirmed seeing the Commanding Officer in an apparantly controlled glide over the French coast leaving a trail of blue smoke". http://www.rafweb.org/Biographies/Stephenson_GD.htm regards MS |

Re: Photos 1-23-13
Gerd,
That is, indeed, FM Rommel in the back seat of a Ju 87D-3 of St.G. 3 (unit code "S7" visible). The radio operator's twin machine guns are missing from their mount. I do not know if Rommel ever actually flew in this aircraft, usually we see him associated with a variety of Fi 156 "Storch" STOL aircraft. Welcome to the board, GRM |
