Loss Info Request
I don't have a whole lot to go on, but hoping something might turn up.
Looking for loss information on a BF 109 (probably late model), lost on 11.2.1945, near Havelberg, Germany. I am told 'Blaue Staffel', so I am assumumg IV Gruppe is meant. I am hoping to place some identity to some parts acquired. The above is all i could glean from the seller. Thanks Brian |
Re: Loss Info Request
Hi,
the JG1-book by Mombeek lists for the 11 Febr '45: Uffz. Hans Gummel I./JG1, wounded. Bf 109G-6, W-Nr. 41066. 100% damaged at a belly landing - with no location given. Was this your crash near Havelberg ??? Regards, digedag1 |
Re: Loss Info Request
Thank you for the reply, it is possible. I wish I had more to go on.

Re: Loss Info Request
I./JG 1 was equipped solely with Fw 190 !

Re: Loss Info Request
41066 is not from a known Bf109 Werknummern range - if not one digit is missing

Re: Loss Info Request
Hi all
In my list I have a 100% loss of the WNr. 410066 on 11. Jan. 44 near Koenigslutter. The unit was JaSta Erla. The pilot, Gefr Fritz Loeser, was killed. It's mystery. best wishes JoMe |
Re: Loss Info Request
I have for Fritz Loeser the W.Nr. 410086.

Re: Loss Info Request
I have also (from NVM) 410086 for Löser.

Re: Loss Info Request
Hi all
I think, my entry is the wrong one. Thank you for your comments. best wishes JoMe |
Re: Loss Info Request
So "1945-02-11, I/Erg.JG 1, Bf 109G-6, 410066, Nördlich Hof, Bauchlandung infolge Motorbrand. Bruch 100 %.
Flugzeugführer Uffz Gummel, Hans, verletzt" seems the best candidate so far. TY Brian |
Re: Loss Info Request
Some new information, by looking at some recovered parts (by another party), it is almost assuredly a G10, probably R6.
So the 410066 G6 is not a candidate. Although some clarity on 410066/410086 and Loeser/Löser I hope has been useful. |
Re: Loss Info Request
The features on the recovered parts that Brian is referring to are:
- KG13 with Autopilot control - Factory installed Erla Haube with cooling tube for ventilation - Wood control surfaces (rudder/elevator, etc.) - MG151 and MG131 - MW50 Based on this...it can only be an Erla-build G-10/R6 (probably an AS). Anyone know of any losses in this area? Mike |
