NICE!!!!
Thankfully it is not too deep...but fearing it may come apart... :( |
Re: Do 17 recovery begins
That´s a rather sober statement made by Steinle. And he knows what he´s talking about with the Fw 200 restoration in the background...
Nevertheless my dream still would be to have the Dutch Waddenzee Do 215 and this Do 17Z side by side on the restoration rigs...in Hungary. Hopefully the salt water has shown mercy to the aluminum sheets. Regards Roland |

gorgeous projects!

Re: Do 17 recovery begins
I'm a bit surprised that no viable Do 17 project surfaced in the former soviet union since many twin engine project came out from there, including Ju 88, SB bombers, Pe-2 etc.
Anyway I'm hoping one day to see a He 111, a Ju 88 and a Do 17 next to each other in the Battle of Britain Museum. |

Re: Do 17 recovery begins
If there is communality between DO17 & DO217 parts (which should be the case), I shall be happy to contribute to the DO17 project by providing some of my DO217 parts, if they can help for the restoration.
see : http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/showthread.php?t=33215 who can pass my message to the DO17 team ? All best Gilles |
Re: Do 17 recovery begins
You can contact Chris Goss on this forum who is involved in the recovery of the Do 17. He was for example intervied in the BBC piece linked earlier in this thread.

German Bomber to be salvaged from the English Channel
Need information about a Dornier Do-17 bomber who was crashed during WWII in the English Channel
The Royal Air Force Museum will salvage the German bomber and it would display the wrackage in the museum. Can you help me to find the registration of the airplane and his last airbase? Abe v.d.Bijl. |
