Woudl you be a bit more specific, I'd imagine there were many many Tiger Moth crashes.

Yes, sorry.
I am looking for Fatal losses in the July/October 1942 time period.
At this time I only have the aircraft type and possible date,.
Sometime between the 12th July 1942 or 19th October 1942. So any Fatal Tiger Moth loss between the 10th July and 20th October 1942 within the UK.
Thanks for the DH lists, I had it but had not yet looked through it. Also thanks for Henk's list that is a great daily list and I do hope that it will be continued.
Am slowely working through the AB series.

just to Add, note if the tiger moth was a civi.then you lookin could be a needle in a haystack..
but if it's say RAF-Training..you might have some luck.
Google and try and find any info-As i did and had say had some luck with my finds not tiger moths.thu.just wartime crashes etc..

Found some of what I am seeking.
Turns out to be the 17th October 1942.
Three aircraft are all I could find in the UK and one in S. Rhodesia, which was T8232 which hit DX540( went to SAAF as 2327 and SoC in 1948).
The three in the UK were:
DE302 - Glider Pilots Exercise Unit - which stalled near Netheravon. So far no details on its crew.
DE826 - USAAF from 12.10.42 - Piloted by Lawrence S. McKee of HqSq, 67th Obs Gp. It hit a "YMCA" Tea Truck where an Elizabeth Bissley and a second unknown person were, this was at RAF Membury.
DE933 - USAAF - Piloted by Stanley E. Marsh of 107th ObsSq, 67th Obs Gp.also at RAF Membury. this a/c later became M4075M so reverted back to the RAF at some later date.
Both of these pilots were alone in their a/c it would seem.

So back to DE302, The pilot and perhaps a second man I cannot find.
However on this day 1st Lt. Rollin W. Karg, 15070363/O-659134 ( from Ohio ) of the 10th TCS, 60thTCG USAAF was killed (DNB) when his Tiger Moth crashed.
Details on the crash of DE302 and the name or names of it crew are most welcome.

Hello Col,

Thanks for the link, but it only deals with RAF personel so I wonder if the fatality was the American airman and that the two LAC's were nothing to do with this aircrafts loss but from som other cause ?

Also I see in CWGC and Geoff's site's that a Sgt. Smith P. H, died in July 42 before this accident with DE302 so its pilot must have been another Sgt. Smith P. H. ?

The gravestone of Lt Rollin W. Karg says he died on 18 October 1942. Of course it's possible he had sustained injuries a day before...

Additional to page 38 of vol 1.
"17th October 1942
1Lt Rollin W. Karg, 60TCG, 10TCS, died of injuriesin Titsworth Hospitalon this date. He was fatally injuredin a Tiger Moth crash. Buried in Brookwood Cemetery Plot E-4-17 before final reinterment in Ohio.
note - Unable to locate Titsworth on maps of the time and this may refer to Tidworth, Wiltshire."

So if it was indeed the 18th then there was R5210 that hit wires recovering from a spin at Rowron Hill (?). Anything known of who her pilot was ?

And DE932 who's pilot is reported as 1Lt. William M. McGuire , second man was John A. NYE.
The a/c is noted as "Landing ACident Stall/SPin" in the AAIR site.

I suspect Karg was in DE826 Membury Membury [USAAF] Cr

The aircraft was repaired - so Crash maybe crash landing - Membury would match for Wiltshire hospital

Note Rowton Hall (not Hill)

18 - T5210; DE932 (pilot: McGuire, W.M. and Nye, J.A. ).
19 - Gipsy Moth G-AAIE (AW160); NZ763; T5815.

My hope is that the names of crew of T5210 will give the answer.

The may charge for large copy runs.
