Trying to nail down a great set of NAGr 2 pics: can anyone decipher those captions written on the back of the 10+ pics?

Seller did put many other pictures- from same fotoalbum - in auction this morning, after Peter did make his list in LEMB. Check them....

Many other Sütterlin challenge, too. General views, Fl.Pl. and a magnificent "Rote 2" (sic! Schwarze 2 maybe).

There are two locations written in Sütterlin on the bcd of those two pics. Can't read them though... Seems again to be 1./NAGr. 2 with a mix of Bf 109 G-4's and G-6's, as the unit operated them in 1943.

A fascinating set for sure... But I didn't find "Schwarze 2"

Great Lilsis!

1./NAGr. 2 was effectively there between April and August 1943; timeframe, versus season and machine mix shown do fit perfectly.

The other one seems to be Warwarowka - I am not sure about this.

It's "Wawarowka" and the picture 4 I'd say "Lt. Garten".

So the writer made a 'typo' as the correct name of the village is Warwarowka, near Belgorod.

Hi Guys,

We have one Lt. Herbert Garten of 1./NAGr. 2 (9 victories, all in 1944) Observer operationnal clasp. DK-G and EK 1 & 2. Kracker adds Fw189!!!! (sic).

Most probably the same, though that Fw189 story is confusing.

NAGr.2 is not 4.(H)/10, specially in 1943/1944. And Garten start to be cited in 1944. Cf Kracker, though it's not necessarily complete.
And no Fw189 in 1./NAGr. 2

It is noted that 4./10 became 1./2 in 2.43. So it is possible that Garten flew Fw 189s with 4./10 previously - just the speculation and possible explanation :)

I think Pawel is correct. This would also explain who a Fw 189 is among the pics on auction... I start to think all those pics were in the former estate of Lt Herbert Garten...

Yes, it's possible ...
But Kracker doesn't list 4.(H)/10 in his duty experience and just point Garten in SU starting from 1/1944. Not much more.
Last, I Wonder where (and how) they got he flew Fw189 if they just got he was in 1./NAGr. 2. Their source(s) - whatever source(s) his(are) - obviously mixed two different things.

Last, yes, one picture displays a Fw 189 ... and others display Ju 52s ... Did he flew them too???
