Colonel Howard Kelly USAAF?
For years I have been fascinated with caricatures by Pat Rooney. Rooney toured military bases during and after the war making caricatures of military officers.
Until today I had only been aware of British personnel being sketched by Rooney until today I took possession of a Rooney caricature dated 1952 of Colonel Howard Kelley who I am presuming was a USAAF/USAF Officer. |

Re: Colonel Howard Kelly USAAF?
On the back of this photograph is written "Winter- Reno 1931-32 Howard with divorcees to be. Univ. of Nev. campus." One can only hope it is written with tongue in cheek!

And finally, Howard Kelly on the right, is that an Air Force uniform he is wearing?
Who is the RAF officer in the middle? I don't want to jump to conclusions but I know who it looks like. http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...2%20143901.jpg http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...2%20144432.jpg |

Re: Colonel Howard Kelly USAAF?
David,
Here's an indication about the presence of (then) Lt Col Howard Kelly in the UK in the early 1950s: see http://airforcehistoryindex.org/data/000/440/676.xml Perhaps this one too: http://www.forces-war-records.co.uk/...ation-sealand/ Thru website fultonhistory I found references to Howard Kelly as well, including an assignment as Base Executive Officer at Rome Army Airfield, NY. Regards, Leendert |
