Re: Ju 252 Reichenbach
I only know that this aircraft was intended to fly to Guernsey and to bring people back to Germany on its return flight. Its take-off had been delayed by engine trouble earlier that evening.

Re: Ju 252 Reichenbach
Thank you, Nick!
Wilhelm Hemme was a enginemechanic from T.Gr.30. He checked the engines of DF+BW that day. He couldn´t find any irregularity. After take off one of the engines begun to stammer and the heavy loaded Ju 252 couldn´t get enough heigth to cross a hill. Some members of 3./JG 106 noticed the take off and the crash. They supposed bad gasolin as reason for engine problems. My source: Der Flugplatz Reichenbach -Walter Hermanutz Herzliche Grüsse aus Oberschwaben, Wolfgang |
Re: Ju 252 Reichenbach
DF+BW was the 0252 000 0011 (Ju 252 V11) that previously served with 1./LTS 290 with code J4+MH. Transported to repair in Munich 02.1944. (thats last I have on it)

Re: Ju 252 1./TGr. 30
Sanglo Cher
Wonder where is seated this "Sanglo cher"... goal of that plane was Guernsey ! Rémi |
Re: Ju 252 1./TGr. 30
Possibly "Sanglo Cher" (misreading/misspelling) means St. Lô and Cherbourg?

Re: Ju 252 1./TGr. 30
Nordbert, you kill me, you are quite inventive minded !!
But at that time Cherbourg was for long in allies hands, not speaking of St Lo ! In, possibly april 45, the Guernsey's boy made some "Coup de main" against Cherbourg. Rémi |

Re: Ju 252 Reichenbach
Hallo Wolfgang,
kennst du die genaue Absturzstelle? Euren Stein habe ich gefunden. Sehr schön, aber sonst nicht mal nen Nagel ... Gruß Jörg |
Re: Ju 252 Reichenbach
I was given a copy of a radio intercept on this one which included a request for extra parachutes to be taken for the 10 men it was to pick up . Take off was at 1800hrs. landing at Guernsey from 2200 hrs. with St Nazaire to be prepared for a possible alternative landing from 2200hrs. , in both cases recognition was red-green.
