Hi MIke,

It's not a stammkennzeichen. See the thread Bf 109 G-6 Stammkennzechen T K + M B on this site at

HI Jim,

yes, from what I understand this is a code for an Me262 belonging to a training unit outside of Munich...

I was just curious if there was any further info... :)

Hi Mike,
the code on this bird is "TS+MB" and it did belong to the Technische Schule Schleißheim. In this case it was captured at the nearby airfield München-Oberwiesenfeld. Werknummer is unknown (at least to me).

Cheers,
Christian

eBay - New Captured Photo of Me262 TS + ML (?)

See link below:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/-/2317430594...:L:LCA:US:1123

"Looks" like TS+ML...and a totally different location than known TS+MB (also the swastika is much different).

Thoughts?

Re: eBay - New Captured Photo of Me262 TS + ML (?)

Nice find - this seems to be a different bird indeed. The Me 262 TS+MB from Oberwiesenfeld was parked in one of the blast shelters and under a camouflage net, when the US forces took the airfield. This example here sits in a forest.

Regarding the last letter of the code...No idea, looks like an "L" but could very well also be a "B".

I concur, after enlarging the eBay photo seems like an L to me. And the location and condition are nothing near TS+MB from the Lw Verband photo.

Would TS + MD be a possibility?

Re: eBay - New Captured Photo of Me262 TS + ML (?)

could be! There is a something that could be a shadow...or possibly part of a "D"...

Hi Sidney

I did the same inversion of colors and enlarged it and thought it looked like a "D" as well but the watermark obscures that area and it's inconclusive.

Hi Vince,

Sorry, I missed your note. The watermark is the issue, I agree - hopefully Mike will be able to come up with a high-resolution photo, which will clear the issue.

Re: eBay - New Captured Photo of Me262 TS + ML (?)

I'm still leaning towards an "L", the "B" and "D" have blunt rounded corners and the letter in the image has sharp edges hence my thought on "L". Also, I came across some photos of a Bf 109 G-6 showing TS+MB at Technische Schule Motor, Munchen - Schleissheim, July 1945 posted on a flickr page by Marc-Andre Haldimann. Odd though it has multiple Bf 109's with the same codes TS+MB. I'm assuming TS stands for Technische Schule. The "M" for Motor? I'm still learning. :-)
Thoughts?

Could be a D afterall...

Mike,

Thank you. To my eyes it does look like D.

To me it's look like a "B" - I definitely see a dent on the right hand side...

I am certain it is D...with all the shadows and highlights, I think it gives an "impression" of a B.

Re: eBay - New Captured Photo of Me262 TS + ML (?)

I agree Mike, it most certainly looks like a "D". The letter "B" would have another indent half way up which would be noticeable.
I must ask about "TS+MB" and why almost all the aircraft at Technische Schule Motor, Munchen - Schleissheim, July 1945 had this designation. Would this group of 262's that the image listed above all been listed as TS+MD?
