Hi Boris

Dornier:

What about F type?
I think these had a pitot mast in the windshield.

Did carry any Do-17 of the early types a 20mm cannon protuding from the
frontal cupola?

F type is designated as a recce plane. He feature three more oxigen bottle [standard is nine Drager 2 liter] and possibility to carry one more fuel tank internaly. But it could also perform bomber mission. Windshield and the front cockpit is not enough strong construction to carry cannon. Where did you see acnnon in windshield?

Re: Do 17E W.Nr. blocks

Hello,
Are these the nine oxigen bottles? Seems to be bigger than 2 liter.
I think there were other differences between E and F types as the number
of side windows in the nose.

Are known the Wnr. blocks for F type?

Thanks
Fran

Re: Do 17E W.Nr. blocks

Yes there was nine bottles but for altitute operations there was need for more. There is also possibilityes of the different type of air intake system for the altitude flying.

Thank you for private. I know for some cannon info but never seen photos. Also I have a testimony of the craftsman who have mounted cannon in Do17 and also have a detaild description where is planed cannon but in rear defense bow.

Thank you Pilot,
What book is the most recommended?

Preferably, technically oriented, to
know about the differences amongst the different types

Re: Do 17E W.Nr. blocks

Unfortunately I take all data from manuals and extract from manuals as well official Dornier material. But Dornier also released many years ago small book about their planes and this book was free from Dornier. There was listed all of their planes with basic technical and service info. Can not remember now but also was available commercial large book about the Dornier airplanes but the most photos was from Dornier archive.
