Re: Remains of Bf 109 and Pilot found in Denmark
Wow, that was quite the school project. I suppose the pilot has been ID'd?

Any feedback on this story would be very interesting. Maybe someone on this forum may know more. From what I can see in the pictures it looks to be a Late mark/model me109? Apologies for duplicate post. knd Regards |

Re: Remains of Bf 109 and Pilot found in Denmark
If the pictures really show a late Bf 109, it can not be Krüger. He was flying a G-6, produced june-august 1943.
Sadly all papers found were handed over to some museum people, who has no idea what so ever what they are dealing with;-( Junker |
Re: Remains of Bf 109 and Pilot found in Denmark
Jörn, take the care and go there to help them! :-)

Re: Remains of Bf 109 and Pilot found in Denmark
Soren Flensted has tried to help them;-). So I leave it at that.

Good. Hopefully the boy gets bitten by the aviation-bug... lol He got a good start at least

Re: Remains of Bf 109 and Pilot found in Denmark
An researcher ... armed with full set of Bf 109 manuals, part lists and "hands on" knowledge of what to look out for ??
Another not far back discovery in same country comes to mind. When are people learning. |
Re: Remains of Bf 109 and Pilot found in Denmark
Hilmar, an engine specialist from flugzeugforum.de, said this are remains from a DB 605A ... his guess is an G-6/G-14. So Krüger could be an possibility.

Re: Remains of Bf 109 and Pilot found in Denmark
Hey.
They have just said it's not Bruno Krüger but they will not say name of ID-papers yet....... My guess is one of these three: Bf109 G-6 (RX+JF) vkr.412118..... 30 Aug 1944 Pilot Gunter Kreiger Bf109 G-6 (NI+XZ) vkr.165196 eller 165096..... 10 Okt 1944 Pilot Hans Wunderlich Bf109 G-6 (RX+DQ eller 152) vkr.411920.............. 16 Nov 1944 Pilot Franz Kowalski or perhaps a completely unknown ;-) |

Hello,
Any record of the DB 605 Motornummer yet? Steve Sheflin |
Re: Remains of Bf 109 and Pilot found in Denmark
It was Hans Wunderlich, born July 22nd 1925 at Neusorg/Oberpfalz.

I agree with Harrison987
Very Sad and so young. |
Re: Remains of Bf 109 and Pilot found in Denmark
Can the correct Werknunner and SKZ for Hans Wünderlich's aircraft be verified or confirmed? Also, is his unit or that of the aircraft known?

Re: Remains of Bf 109 and Pilot found in Denmark
Werk Nr. 165096 NI+XZ 1./JG 102
|
Re: Remains of Bf 109 and Pilot found in Denmark
According to my database entries, NI+XZ was WNr.165196.
WNr.165096 should be NR+ED (but not confirmed). |
Re: Remains of Bf 109 and Pilot found in Denmark
Could be a typing error from my side years ago
|
Re: Remains of Bf 109 and Pilot found in Denmark
I have WNr 165196 as lost June 20th 1944 at Clastres with Uffz Jürgen Zarte from 9./JG 1 at the controls?

Re: Remains of Bf 109 and Pilot found in Denmark
WASt Verlustmeldung states: Wnr 165096 Skz NI+XZ.

Re: Remains of Bf 109 and Pilot found in Denmark
Well, fellows, it looks like we've got another case of a typographical error with Hans Wünderlich's Bf 109.
If the Werknummer was 165 096, the SKZ would have been N R + E D as has been said. For me this SKZ looks 95 per. sure match for 165 096. BUT—if the SKZ were N I + X Z as Jòrn has said based on the NVLM, then 165 196 is the Werknummer. I would like other opinions, but for me, a mistake in the number seems more likely than a mistake in the SKZ. So, it seems to me that we should have 165 196 N I + X Z as the most probable candidate for the kite in question. RA |
