TGr. 30
Bonjour,
What was the last airfield of TGr.30 and who was his last Kommandeur? Thanks in advance. Chris |
Re: TGr. 30
Their last base seems to have been Kaufbeuren although on 6 May 1945 Luftflotte 6 intended to move them to Salzburg.
Hptm. Erich Langer took over temporary command after Oberstleutnant Klamke was killed in mid-April. I don't know if a permanent appointment was made after that. |

Re: TGr. 30
A Booklet on TG 30 states this 'The group moved once more to Eggebeck near Schleswig on 4 May and there we experienced the capitulation '.
Original - 'Die Gruppe Verlegte noch Einmal am 4.Mai nach Eggebeck bei Schleswig und dort erlebten wir die Kapitulation ' Some elements may have been at Salzburg as Nick's post, Regards Brian Bines |
Re: TGr. 30
Interesting.
Which booklet are you talking of? |
Re: TGr. 30
Another member of the forum was kind enough to send me some photo copies of the booklet when I was looking into supply flights to the Channel Islands and Festungs . If you PM me an e-mail address I will send the sheet with the publication details, I believe it was written by Ernst Hartmann and was published in 1997,

Re: TGr. 30
At least 3 TG 30 were at Eggebeck may 1945. See attached extract from AIR 24 1518.

Re: TGr. 30
Hi everyone
The whole Gruppe flew supply missions to the West from Zellhausen until the last week of March, then it split up: 1./TG 30 came to Reichenbach from where they still flew missions to German garrisons in France and the Channel islands. Long after the war relics of He111 could be found on different airfields like Zellhausen, Reichenbach, Kaufbeuren, Schweinfurt, Munich etc. 3./TG 30 (Major Hornung) went to Northern Germany, first to Reinsehlen and then to Rostock-Marienehe, Rerik and Grossenbrode4 for supply missions to Berlin. At the end of war they arrived Eggebeck with some He111, JU52 and one Ar232. All the machines were scrapped there, except the AR232 which was flown to Farnborough and scrapped two years later. (s. Kurr Braatz: "Schafsweide, Geschichte des Einsatzhafens Zellhausen'). Best regards Harry |
