Looks like a German magneto switch.

Hello

Its a magneto switch for an 8 cylinder engine, like the Argus As 10. This part was installed on the dashboard of the Fi 156 (left side, low), and may be on other planes using the same engine.

No no...

What you write is certainly not correct.

This is a Fl. 21119 Magneto Switch.

Used in the Fw190, Bu133, Bf108, Do24,...

It was never installed in the Fi156 (that aircraft took the Fl. 21118).

The amount of connections on the back (8), has nothing to do with the amount of cylinder, or type of engine it was used with...because I can tell you for sure that the Fw190 had a lot more than 8 cylinders... :)

I texted Kermit Weeks ( Fantasy of Flight, Polk Florida) yesterday about his 1937 Fi156 Storch, and sent him the image above. He said it is the same one in his Storch. You can see it if you view his "Fieseler Storch - Part One - Kermie Cam".

Tony,

The 21119 and 21118 look almost the same. 21118 is slightly shorter in height...and has less connections at the back.

If he has a 21119 installed, than it is incorrectly installed...as confirmed by the parts list noted above.

Or more likely...he did not notice that it was a 21119 in the photo...not the 21118.

Two images I made last week of the NASM Fw190-F8. I was told by restoration staff that the small chain on the mag switch was there as the mag switch knob could be removed.
