Re: AEG C.IV Photos
Hello,
Currently on ebay is a photo of a Polish AEG C.IV former C.7123/17 at: https://www.ebay.de/itm/1WK-Polen-po...cAAOSw3adefdCC Regards, Clint |
Re: AEG C.IV Photos
Hi Clint
Initially the Polish AF used for quite some time the former identities of their aircraft, Out of 91 recorded AEG C.IV taken over only 12 received a "proper" Polish serial. Strangely enough 7123/17 was one of them, becoming 5.3 in 1919. Last recorded in use on 30 Jan 1920 Cheers Stig |
Re: AEG C.IV Photos
Hello,
Currently on ebay a photo of an overturned AEG C.IV at: https://www.ebay.de/itm/Foto-WK-I-Fl...sAAOSw6FFevohJ https://www.ebay.de/itm/Foto-WK-I-Fl...cAAOSwaJhevoiD I really would value opinions on the serial nunber. I believe that the number before the 22/17 may be an 8 and the aircraft possibly C.4822/17. Any opinions? Regards, Clint |

Re: AEG C.IV Photos
Hello,
Currently on ebay is a nice photo of an AEG C.IV on ebay at : https://www.ebay.de/itm/Foto-deutsch...AAAOSwLjpgDWSN The serial is less than clear but may be 1724/17 Regards, Clint |
Re: AEG C.IV Photos
That's a bit odd Clint
If I should try and read something I would say 1742. Mix up perhaps of the digits? Cheers Stig |
Re: AEG C.IV Photos
Hi Stig,
No, not necessarily. The serial number is so unclear that I can't see it properly. If you're fairly confident you're seeing 1742/16 then I'm happy to go with that. Perhaps even more so as I already have an image of 1724/17 but not 1742/17. Regards, Clint |
Re: AEG C.IV Photos
Quite so, it is very unclear
Just my first impression, that's all :) Cheers Stig |
Re: AEG C.IV Photos
Hi Stig,
I've just blown it up to 300% I can see, unclearly only three figures, I still feel they may be 724, which is pretty much what I thought I saw before, but did I , am I ? I have no confidence at all. Thinking back there was a photo of an FK.8 which you correctly pointed out was named Lucille II, after I'd come up with something completely different and wrong. So, I'm never going to nail my flag to numbers this unclear. But like I said, I rather hope it is 1742/17. Regards, Clint |
Re: AEG C.IV Photos
Hello,
Currently onebay is a photo of a AEG C.IV with an unusual inscription beneath the engine at: https://www.ebay.de/itm/Foto-Flugzeu...AAAOSwfz9gKXKJ The second word is straightforward enough Kiste = crate, but the first word Flimm(ß or o perhaps) a personal name or from the verb flimmern maybe? Regards, Clint |
Re: AEG C.IV Photos

Hello,
Currently on ebay is a rather nice photo of an AEG C.IV. Alas the serial is somewaht unclear. It might be another view of 1773/17 from the previous post in this thread. https://www.ebay.de/itm/196793183124...QAAOSwSidnLnPE The seller also has photos of shotdown B.E.2c 2750 of 7 Squadron and a Spad of SPA 112. https://www.ebay.de/sch/i.html?_dkr=...&_nkw=flugzeug Regards, Clint |
