Very nice finds again.
Some of the photos have been seen before, but a couple of others are at least new to me.

Highlight was the Luciole which surely must be sporting its French c/n on the fuselage. Pity it cannot be blown up a bit....grrrr :)

The same seller also has a lot of civil registered aircraft, which I am sure you also have seen.

Cheers
Stig

#3 link 3, Luciole ; 7881 : could it be the c/n ? If yes we have 7881 = F-ARJF

Hello Stig & Bertrand,

Thanks for the replies . Yes, the reaon that I captioned the photo as a C.275 rather than any other Luciole variant was because I'd checked volume 1 of Hauet's Les Avions Caudron and 7881 does indeed fit F-ARJF. Can you decipher the number on the tail Bertrand, it looks different to 7881?

Clint

Well Bertrand

In your own opinion, could it actually be anything else?
I cannot think of any other reason but as is quite usual, once you started on a theory it is very tough to think outside the box....:o

How can you be sure the D.373 are just that and not D.376 (or a mix between the two)?

The NA-57 looks like a NAA-64 unless they have switched tails for some reason.

Cheers

Hello Stig,

Fair comment on the D.373/D376.Also you're correct it does very much look like a NA.64 tail. In both cases I posted without checking.

Hello Kaiyan,

I trust your head is ok after last night? Nice that you were able to meet up in the prevailing atmosphere.

Thanks very much for the correct location and the information contained in the various attachments. Bizarre that they applied such 'inauthentic' stars, but I suppose, after all there was a war on at the time and they had more important things to worry about:)

Clint

Even if I never liked the French guillotine, I am old enough to stick my neck out. Very little to loose, come to think of it.....:o

The Potez is interesting, and the digits 09 under the wing leads me in the direction they are part of the former French serial number X-709, a Type 630.
All other serial numbers ending with 09 simply does not fit.

I am still waiting for someone in France to come out with a "final" book about this twin-engine type, but I cannot come up with anything better.

Cheers

Hello Stig,

Many thanks. I don't think you've over exposed yourself and I'm grateful for the information. Totally agree something, by say Lela press, after the nature of their other books focusing on a single french aircraft type would be great.

The Stkz belong to the KQ+Z series (the lower part of the Z can just be made out on the 2nd photo)

I note that Stammkennzeichen.de has KQ+ZC with FFS C 2 in January 1941. Do any other units come into consideration? The same site has no unit affiliation for KQ+ZE.

Re: Photos Beuteflugzeuge

I would list this as a MS230 - most aircraft that you see have the usual unfettered wheels the wheel-spats do seem to give it an usual look though.
But if any of the French experts can help I would be most grateful -Thanks

Re: Photos Beuteflugzeuge

The Hanriot is most likely to be a H.182. Nice to see more than one is a photo.

Re: Photos Beuteflugzeuge

The Curtiss H.75s & NAA 57s have unusually small fuselage Balkenkreuz so my opinion is that they are only temporary.

Hello Tom,

Thanks for the reponses. It would indeed be useful to have someone with a greater degree of experise than myself cast their eyes over the Morane Saulnier photo and give an opinion on the machines identity. I've subsequently looked at both Icare's Les Rois de Parasol Morane Saulnier 1918-1968 and Lacaze's Morane Saulnier book and like yourdelf I'm still not 100% certain.

Meanwhile here's another french machine, albeit not a great photo, the Caudron C.870 is on ebay at:

Hello,

Very interesting pictures showing Blenheim IVF, from RAF N°254 Sqdn which did an emergency landing on 28th March 1942 on a beach close to Morgat (South of Brest), because of a technical problem. The crew, Fl/Sgt. A.G. Parnell (pilot), Sgt. H.J. Mullineaux and Sgt. A.T. Price, were captured, unharmed. The aircraft was afterwards used by the Luftwaffe for training (Fluglehreschule Brandeburg-Briest)

These pictures were taken at the Brest-Lanveoc airfield.
