Thanks Junker, that's a really useful discovery because casualties from the day's events weren't clear to me. Bauch was credited with a Mustang at 09.34 that day (there was no American loss however).

How did you find the second side (i.e the back) of the Fold3 card? I can find the first side OK but the second escapes me!

That day, some activity = 400+ "4-mots" in south France + protection, but few contenders from german side, so few losses, HW5-513, gives one dead nd one wounded , in South-ost France , the day before same losses , Klauka nd Bernhard, but Karte for Klauka is for a 28.th death, "verstorben", could indicate he died some days later his accident.

A Bf 109 G-6 or G-6/U4, that's all I know because that's what JGr. 200 flew at the time.

Thanks Nick

Odd that NVM obviously does not have anything either.

"South East of Puy near Height 313" (probably Le Puy-Sainte-Réparade, Bouches-du-Rhône)— so if you have a map showing a 313 m hill near Puy …

Re: JGr 200 loss 25/6-1944.

Possible , location is also given as 20 NW Aix.., Höhe 313, probably the summit nb, like in "Höhe 125", but als there are some "montains " around

Re: JGr 200 loss 25/6-1944.

But 20km NW Aix doesn't match with SE (let's say) Le Puy.
Whatever,

Lambesc is situated 22km NW from Aix and Altitude vary between 111 to 480 ...
Difficult to pin point a place since all the area South of Durance are plains when 99% of cities/villages in the area are build on hills (because of water resurgences - not of Moors - due to limestone bedrock. Alpilles, Lubéron and Verdon surrouding hills are high enough to give pressure). Full of caves btw.

It's a rare occasion on TOCH forum: a geography lesson. But I like it.
