It's the old Rosipal list, quite outdated....

Hello John,

Thanks for the information, but it may be up to date, but it deserves to exist.

Your remark "condemns" you to provide a more recent one.

I have also opened a position where I ask if someone had the information and posted by Pawel nobody answered ...

I am not a "gollum" who keeps his information by saying "my precious", if someone postulates German losses for "Operation Kutuzov", I will complete it as "open source" on the forum with Russian units .

Thanks in advance.

Laurent,

Nonsense, I am merely informing members what kind of list this is. I am not condemned to do anything else. I have posted many times trying to help others.

Thanks,

John

Thank you. My beloved Friedrich Rupp is on the list, but, unfortunately, he was killed in action...

By the way, what does it mean 'oV'? (It's marked, for example, at Trautloft and Hannig).

Wasn't that the list into which the author incorporated nonexistent losses because he was annoyed that this list was constantly copied and reproduced without reference to the source?

I think it's 'unverletzt' meaning unhurt, unscathed.

It might be »ohne Verletzung« (without injury). My dictionary gives »ohne Verzögerung« (without delay) and »ohne Verpflegung« (without food supply) but I doubt if those apply in this context.

No this was a Nachtjagd loss list IIRC.

Rosipal's file was quite good at the time of his release, and has probably now more good entries than bad ones. AFAIK when data was not available, he did not invent it, so listing many question marks in his file, but it was still very useful. Several years ago, I started some threads on this forum to try to solve some of "mysteries" in the list, and if some cases were solved other remained still obscure (in most cases the loss was confirmed but no more details were found).

In the section "Most Abbreviations" Günther Rosipal has listed OV = ohne Verletzung = without wounding.

Leo

Dear NIck,
Dear Tiger Timon,
Dear Leo,
Dear Laurent,

Thank you very much for the explanation. It somehow didn't occur to me and I didn't notice the explanations in the file. :-(

Best regards,
Teresa
