4,000 Feindflug - 5/SG 2 - who is the pilot?

I am not familiar with his face, but who is the pilot who flew the 4,000 sortie (Feindflug) of 5./SG 2 and in which date?

Is there any record on already published books?

EVGENY,

Do you happen to know if this serie of photos was ever published in books or where one could find them?

By the way, Obfw Hermann Buchner was not with the 6 Staffeln of SG 2 instead of the 5th Staffeln as recorded on this particular photograph/shot?

How could this airman be Buchner if the banner do say 5./SG 2...

Do you happen to know if there is a DATE for this celebration flight or if this is recorded onto Buchner's Memories (Stormbird)? This is a book I wish to have but have not yet....

From Kracker Archives:
8/Sch.G-1, II/St.G-2, 4/SG-1 redesig 6/SG-2 (10/43), 10/SG-151 9/44 Prossnitz), 2/Kdo Nowotny (10/44), 10/JG-7 (2/45)

The third man from the left, could it be Obfw Erich Pätz from 7./SG 2?
And indeed, the second man from the left, seems to be Erich Buchner from 6./SG 2...but who then flew the 4,000 sortie of the 5 Staffeln??

Hello Adriano

It's not Buchner, according to the photos in his memoirs, and there is no mention of this event.
It would be AMAZING if he FORGOT this fact.

Hi gentlemen.
I looked my files finally.
Its not a Buchner.

Not a Lagois, Ehrenfried.

Hello Spektor,

I missed this one! Do you manage to translate what is behind this second photo of the same event?

It appears to have a name "BECHER" behind....but am not sure at all....who is this Uffz who made the 4,000FF of 5./SG 2?

Hello Adriano,

the text is:
Der vierte Becher von dem brutalen Schnaps, schmeckt nicht mehr gut. Na, die Augen zu und hinter gegoßen, es wird schon keine Alkoholvergiftung geben.

Hello Adriano,

the text in English:
The fourth liquor cup of the brutal schnapps no longer tastes good. Close the eyes and pour down, there will be no alcohol poisoning.

Re: 4,000 Feindflug - 5/SG 2 - who is the pilot?

Leo,

My gratitude for clarifying (at least for me who only comprehend some words of German) the full text behind this second shot.

For me, this NCO "looks like" Obfw Erich Patz (http://www.luftwaffe39-45.historia.n...vnum=772)..the hair style, fore front, etc.

It may be possible that Fw Patz may have flown earlier with the 5./SG 2 and later was moved onto the 7th Staffel...but I do not have documents or information to prove that.

My deepest gratitude Leo (and other German members of this Board) to help those who can not decipher the German language with this translation and ALL other translations you have helped me and other members. It is very kind and appreciated.

The mistery about the identity of this airman still remains...

Re: 4,000 Feindflug - 5/SG 2 - who is the pilot?

Guess it is NOT Pätz...he was killed on a Ju 87 D-5 (7./StG 2 not SG 2)...so not him, although he looks pretty much like this airman.
