Mistel S3C W.Nr. 460065

Hi everyone, John here from AIMS. I am making my AIMS 1/32 Mistel S3C W.Nr 460065 found at Bernburg. I was just wondering if someone like Ed North, Remi (“RT”) or Peter Achs might be able to tell me if there is any documentation on this aircraft - did it even get an acceptance flight in its 2 or 3 month lifetime? Any help is greatly appreciated. I can hardly believe based on so few photos that 35 Mistel S3Cs were converted from the 30 G-10's completed plus 5 recycled aircraft but if there is a test pilot name and other details for W.Nr. 460065 I will be over-the-moon. Thanks, John

Eggert,

I have a few questions.

1) How many Ju 88 G-10s were built?

2) Of those, how many are known and were recovered at the end of the war?

TIA,
Ed

I was referring to those delivered and those found ready to be delivered/completed.

I appreciate your help.

Edwest I already had provided thanks to David Brown's email - the answer to your question. Revi16 - the last photo you posted is also 460066 - note the damage to the Fw 190s left wing tip

As for the Fw 190 A-8 it is Wk.Nr. 961243
Please can anyone help with my original questions regarding 460066? Thanks

Re: Mistel S3C W.Nr. 460065

I am not one you requested information from but here it is:
Ju 88 G-10 WNr. 460066 had a follow up flight on 13-Mar-1945 by Fritz Harder. Since this was a follow up flight there must have been an earlier flight.
Regrads,
Norbert

Hi Norbert, many many thanks - I was looking for info on 460065 not 460066. My last request was a mistake, can you help with my original request regarding 460065? Thanks in advance

Re: Mistel S3C W.Nr. 460065

Neither 460065 or 460066 were "S3C", that is false.

Re: Mistel S3C W.Nr. 460065

Just took from the Robert Forsyth book. I wonder where this misnomer comes from then? So it is just Mistel 3 full stop. And are you Ed able to answer my original question? Thanks in advance

Re: Mistel S3C W.Nr. 460065

I have no idea who got it wrong or right first. There seems much "follow the heard" amongst writers that still believe in Green. Presume your model is 534,68 mm long (and no warhead).

Re: Mistel S3C W.Nr. 460065

Thanks Ed. Yes standard G-10 as per the two photographs of it. I am assuming it was one of the aircraft that received a test flight but as some photos show aircraft with pristine shiny exhaust stubs with no staining on the gear bay it would be nice to know one way or the other. Please help if you can
