Re: Updated Luftwaffe Shipping Claims List
Had a quick look through it. Seems to be missing HMS Latona, and some detail on HMS Auckland?

Re: Updated Luftwaffe Shipping Claims List
Hi,
It is a work in progress, so expect more updates in the future. The list is just short of 1,000 claims at the moment, but we still have many sources to go through. A special thanks should go to Andy Mitchell, who has spent a lot of time putting together the early war claims. Andreas, please do update the spreadsheet and send it to us - that would be appreciated. Cheers, Andrew A. Air War Publications - www.airwarpublications.com |

Re: Updated Luftwaffe Shipping Claims List
Morten,
Only one entry for Erprobungsgruppe 210, in February 1941...? |
Re: Updated Luftwaffe Shipping Claims List
Hi John,
It is very much a work in progress, with lots more sources to go through, so no doubt more Erprobungsgruppe 210 claims will appear in the next update. We just have to find the time to do the research. Cheers, Andrew A. Air War Publications - www.airwarpublications.com/earticles |
Re: Updated Luftwaffe Shipping Claims List
Over at TSAMO/German Docs in Russsia, Akte 100/Lagebericht 364 of 4 September 1940 has six pages of shipping claimed damaged or sunk up from 1–31 August 1940: https://wwii.germandocsinrussia.org/...inspect/zoom/5
And John will be pleased to know that there are nine (by my quick count) involving "ZG 210" and "Zerst. Gr. 210". |
Re: Updated Luftwaffe Shipping Claims List
Again I can't see or download the above. Is anyone else having this problem? I made a post on this site about Soviet Fugas minesweepers and the dates ect when they were sunk or damaged by Axis aircraft. Some one else added some other dates. My info was from Warship magazine which has other articles on Soviet warships.

Equally nothing in SCHARNHORST's KTB. There we can found a statement, that sub was sunk by GNEISENAU's airplane 16.6.40. Indeed, a plane started in 00.00 and downed 02.32 reports about sinking CLYDE-type sub in qu. 5659r, 22 miles north of Halten Light. Alas i don't know planes code and crew. PS - 19.6.40 plane from GNEISENAU indeed attacked sub almost in same area and in same time (qu. 5697, Halten Bank), flight 00.00-02.15. |

Re: Updated Luftwaffe Shipping Claims List
Ooops! I made a typo on HMS/M Narwhal according to wiki the wreck of this sub may have been located. Will get back on the rest.

Re: Updated Luftwaffe Shipping Claims List
Page 309 of No room for mistake has "2 Arado aircraft from Scharnhorst" looks like the author made a mistake
page 295 I made a mistake it is 26 june Arado flown by Ltn Frendenthal with Unt Koch in the back seat. Sighted submarine east of Nordoyan lighthouse. Two 50-kg bombs dropped from 300 meters straddled the boat and, during a second pass, several hits were recorded from the 20mm cannon. The submarine dived with a appartent list, leaving air bubbles and an oil slick. The claim for a sunken submarine was accepted and Admiral Marschall awarded the Iron Cross, first class to the crew. The submarine was the Trinton which reported the attack and escaped undamaged. |
