Update new volume in the Nachtjagd Combat Archive series (Eastern Front, SE Europe and the Mediterranean)
 

Dear all,

I just got word from Wingleader that they are looking at end of October 2022 for a publication date of the next volume in the Nachtjagd Combat Archive series. This new volume covers the Nachtjagd on the Eastern Front, SE Europe and the Mediterranean theatre of operations. Last week, I have finished work on the texts, maps and photos for this new volume in the series.

As it is nearing the end of October 2022, is there an update on the publication date?

Thanks for your enquiry -unfortunately I got word from Wingleader Publishing that there is a delay in publishing this new volume, I hope this is only a short delay, I'll keep you posted on this.

Dear all -here's a bit of good news: I have just finished work on the final proofs of the NCA Eastern Front, Med & SE Europe volume. 144 pages in all, fully illustrated with mostly previously unpublished photos and two fine maps made by Aldo Brizzolari, it looks great and will be an eye opener on the subject. The book will be printed next week so should be available within a month!

looking forward to it. I well recall sweating over pages of Günther Bertram's
almost illegible scrawl some 15 years ago for this volume!

Thanks for that -Bertram's memoirs, which you kindly translated all these years ago, plus a fine series of never before published photos of his makeshift He111 night fighter and his crew will be published in the volume.

Their organisation was piece-meal - venerable Heinkel He 111s drawn from the Eastern Front Kampfgeschwader with neither search radar -as was usually the case in the west- nor controlled by any kind of ground control as later existed in the shape of the Nachtjagdzüge - the night fighter trains."
