S/L R.W. McKichan, 56 Squadron (1945)

Does anyone know this pilot’s first name, please?

RSwank,
Just for curiosity...what is the tittle of the book you posted on #2? Was it also published in English language? Seems quite interesting.
A.

A brief bio of 1378293 Ronald William Alexander MacKichan (or Mackichan) (106195) is included in Those Other Eagles. He claimed 3-0-1 serving on 3 Sqn. (Typhoons) and 80 and 56 Sqns. (Tempests). He was awarded the DFC & Bar. Presumably a Scot, although place of birth is not given, he was born on 30 Nov. 1915 and died in 1983 in Bath, Somerset (per FreeBMD.org.uk).

Regards,
Tom

Adriano, the link I gave came from this website:

http://www.luftkrig1939-45.dk/index.html

I think the book is "possibly" this one, it has been published in a lot of editions:

Rolland (Adriano)

I doubt the book you refer to is the same one. First of all it was published in 1961 while the extracts (in Danish)
are extremely detailed and would have required very lengthy studies of all relevant ORBs and probably much
more.
Nothing like that was around in 1961. Not even sure where the British records were held at the time and if a
(seemingly) Polish citizen would have received permission to study them.

Having said that, I confess it is an extremely interesting find Rolland and I will take a closer look when I get
home. You are a true master of locating interesting stuff on the 'net!

Thanks for that!!
Cheers
Stig

The website was created by Carsten Petersen who is the author of Air War over Denmark, vol. I-V. He may be using his own material.

That sounds much more plausible Rolland

It is a surprising and amazing research indeed...although some images seems to have been used from various other sources. I take my hat for him! Superbe research.
