AR-199 loss and damaged info

I am looking for info on Ar-199 lost or damaged Luft-zur-see.de only has:

14 Aug 42 V3 #3673 shot down crew saved by according to BCRS V3 p95 19GIAP. Off Finnland parts salvaged in 1993

28 May 43 #17 20% accident France.

I know one was POWed by the RAF at the end of the war.

Any info on the following:
KK+BU white 47 Seefliegerschule Bug 1944 Rugen.

DM+ZF # 018 Tournai 1943

Re: AR-199 loss and damaged info

I thought DM+ZF was WNr.0017 (ie, the same one damaged on 28 May 43)?

Re: AR-199 loss and damaged info

Andy

If the German STKZ applications were logical
DM+ZF was WNr 0017 and WNr 0018 was RD+WA

Known correlations between STKZ and WNr favours that theory.

Cheers
Stig

The Arado Ar 199V-3 W.Nr. 3673 reg. D-ITLF St.kz. TJ+HL
01.09.1940 reported by E-Stelle (See) Travemünde for general type trials.
16.07.1942 Allocated to Seenotbereichskommando IX at Kirkenes, Norway.
14.08.1942 Serving with 10. Seenotstaffel. 100% accident south-west of Liza.
Shot down by enemy aircraft while on a rescue sortie. Crew rescued. No casualties.

Arado Ar 199A-0 W.Nr. 0017
28.05.1943 Überführungskommando LZ Amt Travemünde. 20% damaged during a forced landing due to engine failure at Anneau near Chartres. No
casualties.

The production of Arardo Ar 199 was limited to six prototypes V-1 to V-6
followed by 20 Ar 199A-0 series aircraft with W.Nos. 0007 - 0026. 10 aircraft went to the Seenotdienst and 10 to the training organisation (Chef AW).

Re: AR-199 loss and damaged info

Thanks. What was the WNr. of V-6 please?

Stig Jarlevik 24th January 2025 00:45

Re: AR-199 loss and damaged info

Andy

The six prototypes were WNr 3671 - 3676 and supposedly V-1 to V-6
As far as I know the V-1 to V-4 are confirmed as WNr 3671 - 74

Unfortunately the sources differ, with regard to the other two, such as listing 3676 as the V-5,
so possibly 3675 was the V-6 and thus 3676 the V-5

What do you have on that Björn?

Cheers
Stig

Hi Seaplanes
Can you tell us where exactly the SIPA-Ar199 was manufactured and in what period?
best wishes JoMe

Re: AR-199 loss and damaged info

Thanks also from me.
I have seen two versions of the codes for 0018/0026:

0018/0026 RD+WA to RD+WI
or
0018/0020 HD+WX to HD+WZ
0021/0026 RD+WA to RD+WF

Which is correct please?

Re: AR-199 loss and damaged info

The SIPA factory was reported to be in Paris region, but I have not found the exact address.

As to the production of the 20 Ar 199A-0 by SIPA:
In the RLM Flugzeug-Programm Nr.222 von 01.09.1942 it is reported
for the Ar 199A-0 that none of the 20 aircraft had been delivered by 30.06.1942. The production schedule was from July 1942 to January 1943.
The production of this aircraft was given close to zero priority by RLM,
but all of them had been delivered before 31.08.1943.

As to the Stammkennzeichen blocks reserved for these 20 aircraft, I have not found good documentation connecting St.kz. and W.nr.
If someone have this, please post your source references to this forum.

What appears to be an operational Ar 199 with a "KK+" code:
