TsAMO access to be restricted
 

Researchers - I just learned this from one of my research guys:

the Russians are to close access to the "West" to the huge archive of documents digitized from TsAMO. Possibly on May 1 or on their anniversary on May 9.

I could get all political about this, but I'll just leave it here for now

The fact is the Russian President will decide what happens on Victory Day, May 8.

I did read that, following the example of Col. Scheisskopf in Catch-22, Putin had decided that "Due to circumstances beyond my control, there will be no big parade."

I did not notice any new materials from time span that interests me... waiting for 6.GIAD 1945 etc...

I think this is erroneous info.
Among other things, such a restriction would simply be ineffective.

On the eve and during Victory Day, the website is often unstable due to the large number of visitors.

For the last seven years or so, only personal data has been updated, as far as I could see.
Many documents have been digitized, but still not uploaded for some reason unknown to me.

Some say that there will be a big update during these May holidays. I really hope so.

Hello guys,

I remember an old thread in which (Andreas Zapf?) a software routine was written to fetch all data available. I checked the TSAMO site today and I am wondering why it is not possibel to download an 'Akte' as I have done some years ago. It is also not possible to store each page one for one, doing this by printscreens is a slow and time consuming process.

which of the archives do you reffer to?
-PamyatNaroda.ru...you can save the file one by one using the save icon

-at Germandocs in Russia you use print option, which opens the file with print options, press escape to cancel print and save the image regular way...
I did that week ago, and all worked.
today, some maintenance is on as announced, so could not provide screenshots...

at the page you listed just use the print option, and then cancel by escape button the print options and save the file as usually...(right mouse button click and save as...)
As for the ZG76 book, I wont interrupt this topic..sending PM.
