Aircraft engine found

On the site oldweather.org chat section 1 Aug 17 they mention a aircraft engine being found while dredging Pourtsmouth harbor. Thinking it was from WW I I made a post on theareodrome.com and the reply says it could a Jumo 211 off a Ju 88. Any idea on which plane it could be from?

This has been discussed on the Flypast Forum. Not from the 12 Aug 40 crash in the harbour & thought to be a dumped one found out at sea
