844 BS, 489 BG Loss 22/6/1944

The subject matter is a little out of my comfort zone!

MACR 7550 refers.

I have Wiliam B Montgomery 1 Lt and John Holoka Jr T/Sgt both MIA an commemorated at Madingley.

I also have F/O John J Crowther as killed but can find no reference to him on the American Battle Monuments site.

Can anybody add anything here?

F/O John J Crowther, T61828, is buried in New York state, but not in a VA cemetery (ie, presumably a family plot). This from ancestry.com.

Frank.

Hi Andy,

A good site to check USAAF casualties:
http://www.usaafdata.com/search

This site will list killed men both buried overseas/MIA (like the ABMC database) but also those brought back to USA for burial (that are not on the AMBC).

And the aircraft serial was often indicated in the detail field.
