Action of the south of Italy.
On 25.7.43 @ 12.15hr two Luftwaffe transport aircraft (gigants ?) were attacked and shotdown off the southeast coast of Italy, one crashed into the sea east of Caprera, and the other made an emergency landing and burnt out at Maddalena, a number of crew and passengers were lost from both aircraft, the action took place 10mls east of Capo Ferro.I would like to know which allied units were involved, thank you. peter.r
