Photos Japanese Naval Aircraft

Hello,

While browsing for something else, I came across the following site which has a number of photos of Japanese Naval aircraft :

http://www.memai-clinic.com/myhobby....A6%97%EF%BC%89

Hopefully some are new to the viewer as they were to myself. Interesting I thought to see a Nakajima Ki-44 Shoki on the same airfield as both a A6M5 and a A5M4.

Regards,

Clint

Well Clint

I actually thought the trainer (Willow) shots were the most interesting of the lot.

Since most shots sems to be from his training days, is the Schiffer book good enough to identify which training unit this is all about? :)

Also can you see if the Zeros visible are from the same unit or if he moved to another unit/base for his advanced training? There are an interesting group of shots, of possibly A6M2 taking off, with the unit codes also seen under the wings. Anything the Schiffer book identifies?

Cheers
Stig

Hi Stig,

No, the Schiffer book is no help here,as it deals with Army trainers, not the Navy, but the K5Y appear to bear the Katakana of the Kasumigaura Kokutai. However the K3M wears the markings of the Tsukuba Kokutai as do some of the A6M2 photos. I think these photos are just from the guys site - his hobby as he says, but not all are necessarily from the same source. Though, who knows, they might be.

Hello,

Currently on ebay is a photo of a Nakajima E4N2 at:

Does anyone know if any E4N survived with training units as long as December 1941?

Possibly taken at the same location as the K5Y2 in the previous post in this thread?
