Walter A. Krell
Good afternoon Gentlemen,
I'm interested in Walter A. Krell, the pilot of gunner ace John Foley https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_D._Foley Does anybody know what his middle name was, when he was born or when he died ? Cheers, Michael |

This is Walter August Krell's grave:

Re: Walter A. Krell
Hello RSwank,
thanks for your helpful answer. Born in Canada ? Does that render him a Canadian ? Have a nice evening, Michael |
Re: Walter A. Krell
His family moved to the US in 1919. By the 1930 census he was a naturalized US citizen probably because his parents became naturalized US citizens.
His full name at birth was Walter Francois August Krell. (Some sources have the 2nd middle name as Auguste.) He apparently did not use Francois in the US. |

Re: Walter A. Krell
Good afternoon Gentlemen,
Im interested in Krell because I wonder if he might the the pilot of the highest-scoring Martin B-26 crew. I think his gunners shot down at least 8 planes. Have you ever heard about a higher final total for them or a Marauder crew with even more kills ? Michael |
Re: Walter A. Krell
I found the song about Krell's gunner:
