RAF Northolt - 100th Anniversary
March 2015 sees the 100th anniversary of RAF Northolt. I'm doing a presentation for them of photos covering as much of the 'early years' as I can to 1945. If anyone has any photos to share from WW2 I'd be happy to receive them either via a PM and email of post them here. Any of the photos seen on here relating to aircraft downed on the other side of the Channel are equally welcome. Full credit for photos supplied will be given. Thanks in advance.

Can anyone work out the codes on the Spitfires at Northolt, being inspected by the press circa 1942.
Note the wooden decking used by the ground crew; I have never seen this before. Also where were these blast pens on the airfield at Northolt? They weren't in front of the hangars. |
Re: RAF Northolt - 100th Anniversary
I guess this is Biggin Hill, not Northolt. The Spitfire in the foreground is the personal mount of the Biggin Hill Wing Leader, W/Cdr E H Thomas, coded EH-T.
