HMS Glory September, 1946

Hello,
Am seeking information about an air crash on 27th, September, 1946 or around that date.
From what I understand the ship was n the Far East or Australian waters at this time.
FAA Squadrons were 806 and 837 Squadrons., a/c were Seafire F.XV's and Firefly F.1/FR.1's.

As I understand it Air Mechanic 2c John Frederick Adams, L/FX.762898 was reported as MPK due to an air crash.
But I have been unable to find anything about such an incident.
Anyone have any details on this crash ?

Further to this search is also the loss of S/Lt(A) Derek F. Mills ( HMS Vernon ) who is reported to have died as. a result of an air crash on the same date as Adams.

The only a/c that I could find this date was a Firefly serial number MB665 of 766 Sqdn FAA in which Lt(E) Michael A Clarke was killed, but this was in home waters.

Many thanks
Alex

Hello,
There is still the question of the "air crash" in which Adams was involved ?
Anyone have anything ?

Re: HMS Glory September, 1946

Alex,

Please refer to britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk.

In the 1 Oct 1946 editions of the Yorkshire Evening Post it says John Adams died "as result of accident on board HMS Glory... Buried at sea."

Perhaps more to read in obituary/article, but then you have to register.

Regards,

Leendert

Thank you Leendert,
