Werner Fick + 24.04.44
Hi Guys,
Werner Fick flew aircraft for E-Stelle Rechlin and was killed flying a He 219 on the 24.04.1944. What I would like to know is was Werner still at Rechlin or was he posted to an operational unit? I would also like to know the details regarding the loss of the He 219 if possible. Kind regards, Melvin www.aircrewremembrancesociety.com |
Re: Werner Fick + 24.04.44
Hello Melvin,
Werner Fick was not from Rechlin but Erpr.St.Travemünde and flew with the I./NJG 1 since December 1943. He and his Bordfunker Fw.Alster died in a He219 from the 2./NJG 1 in the night of 24/25 April 1944. All the best, Marcel [for a PM : marcelhogenhuis(at)gmail.com ] |
Re: Werner Fick + 24.04.44
Bit of a zombie thread but was this Werner Fick same as the Uffz Fick who was in 4./NJG 1 in 1940?

Re: Werner Fick + 24.04.44
Hello Chris,
Appealed by your qualification 'zombie' I hurry myself to confirm that Werner Fick once was member of the 4./NJG 1 and a well known prewar glider pilot flying in many gliding contests. Warm greetings, Marcel |

According to this website (in German), Fick died on the 25th of April, shortly before 00:40 hrs:

Re: Werner Fick + 24.04.44
Out of curiosity, is Werner's Flugbuch from 1940- april 1942 preserved? I'd be interested in some details from it.
