In the primary source Gen.Qu. loss return 2 Dec 1942 item 36 is listed:
29.11. K.Gr.z.b.V. S 11 (Brindisi) , Ort: Comiso, Ursache: Bombenwurf, Flugzeugführer Fw Mittelstädt +.

I don't recall ever seeing an EKM in the GQM losses although I'm happy to be corrected as I don't consult them that often. You'd need an NVM for that.

Steve EKMs used to be available via NVM and yes, never mentioned in the GQM

I guess his EKM depends upon the unit he was with it was first assigned to him. I guess Matti is the best bet for confirmation.

Matti's records generally do not include those killed in non-aircraft events
