III./JG 27 question

In Jochen Prien’s origin books on JG 27 do they provide any information as to the losses in III./JG 27. Two Bf 109 E-7s made forced landings but no cause as to why. Also Fw. Ernst Riepe of 9./JG 27 was listed as MIA after a Luftkampf to the east of Pulkovo, resulting in 100% loss of Bf 109 E-7 (# 5039). Was this result of attacking Soviet bombers or fighter combat?

Sorry Nick, it’s the 19 Sep 1941 while they were serving around Leningrad.

In Prien JFV Teil 6.I, page 195:

Riepe loss is attributed to Luftkampf; Flg. missing; and FSA. "Gelbe 11".
Gen.Qu.6.Abt. (mfm #4)-Vol.6; Prien, et al, Die Jagdfliegerverbände, VI, p.195; Prien/Rodeike/Stemmer, III. & IV./JG 27, p.320

E-7, 4008, Tossno 60%, no cause.
Gen.Qu.6.Abt. (mfm #4)-Vol.6; Prien, et al, Die Jagdfliegerverbände, VI, p.195; Prien/Rodeike/Stemmer, III. & IV./JG 27, p.319

E-7, 0768, Luga, 60%. no cause.
Gen.Qu.6.Abt. (mfm #4)-Vol.6; Prien, et al, Die Jagdfliegerverbände, VI, p.195; Prien/Rodeike/Stemmer, III. & IV./JG 27, p.319; Menke, SKZ list
Well, Notlandung for both.

Data thanks to Georg ;)

Re: III./JG 27 question

Thanks Ouidjat but I have the JFV books. I was hoping the original JG 27 volumes might have more details then what is in the brief loss statements. As III/JG 27 on the 19 Sep 1941 fought with Soviet bombers that day, I would be interested to find if Fw. Riepe met his fate tangling with them or the fighter rscort. The other two losses left out if it was mechanical or maybe some combat damage. Sometimes I have found that an insignificant amount of damage was brushed aside by a German pilot, which later resulted in a forced landing.

Re: III./JG 27 question

Riepe was lost in air-combat on a freier Jagd-mission, after completing a Stuka-escort mission. It was noted that he took to his parachute, but he did not return to his unit. The two forced landings are not mentioned in the text. Reference page 140 of the history of III and IV/JG 27 by Dr Jochen Prien et al.
