Kermit Swanson, glider pilot, 437th TCG, 84th TCS

84th Troop Carrier Squadron, 437th Troop Carrier Group. He flew three combat glider missions, Normandy, Holland and the Rhine Crossing (Varsity). He received the Air Medal and two Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters to the Air Medal. He was wounded and received the Purple Heart for the Varsity operation where he and his copilot were both hit by several pieces of flak.
