Avro Lancaster identification - 71 missions
Good night to all!
I am tyring to identify this Avro Lancaster which had (at time, on the photo) 71 missions registered. Observing the first missions, it seems there is a strange "Saint" personage on the right side of the bomb. Could it be DV245, "The Saint"? It seems NO, because SR*S has his bomb missions painted close to the nose of the aircraft. On this photograph, we do see a DFM painted and maybe a DSO ( below). Some bombs do have a V symbol it seems. Perhaps attacks against V-1 sites? Any help to identify the Squadron of this Lancaster and/or crew would be most welcomed. Yours Adriano |

Col. Bruggy,
Many thanks for your help and clear identification of the photograph. Well done! A very nice photograph indeed. I wish I could go to Australia to see the real bird... Thank you again! Adriano |
